I got an ECMlink for my 90' Talon TSi. Ever since I got it and got my car running things have been fine. I was getting a little knock so I started pulling degrees of timing on the path that the ECU took on my timing table. The knock reduced and everything seemed fine, that was on 11lbs of boost.

I the decided to hack my 2g MAF and calibrate it on the ECMLink. I also turned my MBC to 15lbs. It was experiencing knock again, a little more than last time and now every time i'm under boost the CEL comes on and I am getting bad knock. I tried pulling more timing and it helped the knock a little but seemed to make the car feel slower and still getting CEL under boost only.

I tried to run DTC and it gives me nothing. I even tried running a DTC check while doing a pull and while the CEL was on but it still didn't show up on my DTC check. Also while this is happening it does'nt feel as fast as it should be, like something is holding it back.

So I reset my timing and A/F tables back to stock, put the honeycombs back in the MAF and screwed the nut back in, set the MAF settings back to a regular 2g MAF. and I turned the boost back down to where it was. it's still doing the same thing.

Also I have my stock boost gauge set up to show me knock and when the CEL shows up the boost gauge shows that i'm getting knock

Anybody have any idea what this could be?

Also here is a log of my last cruise after setting everything back to stock.

By default Link will flash the CEL whenever the ECU reads a certain amount of knock. It's not a DTC, it's Link telling you that you are knocking and should let off the throttle. In your "Dash" tab you can control when the Knock CEL comes on and in the "ALS/Knck" tab you can set when the knock sensor is listening for knock (to avoid reading phantom knock out of boost).

But it still would be a good idea to post a log.

So you're saying i should just keep trying to tune and eliminate the knock till its gone and that should fix it?

I did post a log. You should take a look at it

Thanks

Your CEL is set to come at 5 degrees of retard or if your coolant temps exceed 237 degrees.

You can't really make any proper tuning adjustments without a wideband. The CEL will come on with 5 degress retard of knock or when your coolant temp hits 237 deg. as stated above. The CEL is most likely coming on when you are in boost because your sensor is detecting knock. I would get a wideband before you try to do any tuning and I wouldn't be boosting too high if you are getting knock.

Make sure to get an Innovate unit and not an AEM. The AEM's don't play well with link.

Yes, i am going to order it from the ecmlink site. Thanks

Also on the dsmlink under "o2 feedback adjustment rate" do i go up or down in numbers to richen/lean the mixture to the o2 sensor? The o2 takes a while to start cycling. How can i richen the mixture up to make it start cycling faster?
