Hello all,
I've been searching but i'm still confused. I am looking for a free logging program that i can use on a laptop. The only thing i want to buy is the obd2 cable (can i only buy them online?). I saw some free software for palm pilots but wasn't sure if it worked with pcs. Please let me know what you have had the best experience with. Thanks a lot.

isn't mmcd for a 1g? i remember seeing that. i'll take a look at that link though, thanks.

You want something free/cheap that is "good"? Ummm, that may be hard to find. I paid $110 for my 2g logger.

You will want a wideband to tune with SAFC btw.

ok, thanks. Do i need a wideband? i read about the bluewire mod that uses the o2 voltage. The guide at rre didn't mention a wideband either, i'm sure it would help a lot but i'm just cheap. The more research i do, the more it looks like ecmlink is what i need, now why does it have to be so expensive?

sorry if i just ranted a little, thanks for the help, i apreciate it.

You don't NEED a wideband. It's just one of those safety mods that prevents you from blowing your motor up. I got my Inovate LC-1 wideband for $185 shipped.

If I were you, I would look into doing other mods if your cheap. That's what I did first, in order to prevent "re-tuning". Tune's can cost a lot of money IF you let them. Getting an Eprom ecu paired with DSMlink will save you money in the long run by learning how to tune. Take a look at my mods. Soon enough, I will be picking up DSMlink v3 lite.

yeah you have a couple more mods then me. I'm going to get my eprom socketed and just look for someone local to tune for me with their dsmlink. I've been running rich, i just need someone to tinker with it a little. Thanks again

You have NO fuel mods & your running rich? You should look elsewhere besides tuning to fix your issue. Our cars run stoich from the factory. Might want to start with a boost leak test & checking for codes if your throwing a CEL. Otherwise I wouldn't worry too much. I run a bit rich still with No Tune & I got 300 miles on my tank yesterday.

well i get about 16 mpgs and have replaced almost every fuel related thing. I had another thread and they said it needs a tune.

replaced-
air filter
fuel filter
spark plugs
wires
new vacuum hoses
02 sensor

vacuum is at 18-19 at idle (in drive)

O, and no check engine lights here :)

The exhaust smells bad, but there is no black smoke.
