Ok, so it's almost back together after winter clean up, and flex plate repair. I'm just trying to double check my bases here on my thoughts for the base line tune. This is NOT my final tune, just a base to start the car on. '91 tsi awd A/T, with M/T engine. So here is where the numbers game starts. The auto ECU obviously is looking for 390cc injectors being run @ 42.7psi, which would be about 386.4cc of flow. The reality is going to be 450cc's run @ 44psi, which would be about 452.58cc of flow. Now this, if my math is right, should be about 17% difference in flow rate.
Now the other items to look at will be the 3" GM Maf & MAF-T being used in conjunction with an SAFC 2. Also the fact that the TD04 that the ECU was set for is now a 14b. Now to start I'll be set for only 7lbs of boost. I'm aiming for like stock performance to get moving.
So my idea is to set the MAF-T to the 450cc setting and adjust to about -17% base on the SAFC 2. I think this should be about right to get started, obviously I'll be eye balling the UEGO to make sure of A/F, and watching the logger. My biggest question about the whole thing is the MAF-T itself. Was the translator designed based on a M/T ECu settings? Do I need to make some extra adjustment for the ECU difference?
Any thoughts are greatly welcome. Hoping anything I may be missing you guys will call me on before I set this open and make a large mistake. :D
