I took my car to dyno day a few weeks back to see what i was making. The car was making 260hp and 255ftlbs when i bought it and since then i got a full 3'' exhaust, 272 cams with s&r, 1150cc injectors, bigger radiator, dsmlink and wideband, turned the boost up and got a tune..So with all this i was hoping to break 300hp seeing as how i got it with 260hp. But it turns out i only have 237hp and 224ftlb:sosad: After i found that my turbo was overboosting and to save the turbo my truboost would automatically drop it way down to like 10lbs. So i turned the boost down and now it doesn't overboost. Does anyone know why it would i only had it at 20lbs? Also my dyno chart looks wierd and kind of fluxuates (sorry for the spelling) at around 5-7k, which is where it started to overboost, i dont know if there is a connection there or not. I haven't gotten it dynoed since then, but if any one can help:pray: i hope its a tunning issue and not mech..I fell like i should be making more power but maybe im just big headed. PLEASE HELP!!!!

The red lined dyno is as i bought it, blue present

The afr is about 10.5-11 at wot, i dont think there is ant boost leaks because since i turned the boost down it holds till redline. Side note, could my wastegate actuator be messed that it would overboost because it was set to 19lbs but it would get up to 23lbs before overboosting? As for as timing and intake temps im not sure, it was tuned at a shop but i cant get my dsmlink to connect with my laptop. When i try it says COM1:SerOpenPort failed: Port not valid. Sorry im new with dsmlink

Post a log or its going to be hard to troubleshoot the tune. Did you post a log on DSMlink forums yet for help? Looks like your getting knock up high and timing is being pulled. I would ask all of tuning questions on the link forums.

ok with the com failure what you do is go up top where you have the drop down menu that says ecu. kinda at the bottom of the box it says configure connection. click on this. and then a little screen will pop up. you will see a spot that says initial port and it will say com(and some number) for example it will say com3. click on this and click another com. go from com1 to com2 or com3 whichever it gives you. it usually gives two or three coms to choose from. i have that problem a lot because i like to change which port in my laptop i plug link into hahaha and i get that same failure. i keep changing coms around until i stumble upon the right one. hope that helps. also make sure that you have downloaded all the right drivers for the link cable and your usb to serial cable because that really confused me at first as well. hope that can get you running.

What version do you have?

What exhaust did you have on before you put the full 3" turbo back on? I'm guessing you may be boost creeping a bit now with such a free flowing exhaust. Are you still running on the internal wastegate?

Ok intake temp 85 degrees, found it was a bent pin on the connector so now it works, although im not really sure how to post a log or anything really. I have v2 but the guy i got dsmlink never had the ownership or what ever so i cant go on the fourms. Before the 3'' i had stock dp with a highflow cat going into a 3" axle back, and the turbo is internally wastegated (evoIII 16g)

Did you email the DSMlink guys with your serial number? That's all you need to get an account. Did you download the new V3 software to use as well? It works fine with the older chips.

Do you know how to save your logs? Its as easy as "File, Save as, pick your filename and location you want to store it, then save."

Sounds like a tune issue, and what exactly do you mean by overboosting? You can never have too much boost! Anyway your EBC might not be working properly and making the boost fluctuate and causing your power to do the same.

Personal experiences with ebc is that they didn't work quite right and just made more problems with my buddy's car. Put on a mbc and and we were good to go!

I've only had an ebc so i guess i cant really compare, but i do like bein able to adjust on the fly

I'll try to upload but like i said i dont really know what im doing:coy: Just kidding i cant get it to upload im a retard i know

According to the AEM website you can manually set the over boost shutdown. Have you adjusted it at all? Do you even know where its set now? Obviously when you upped the boost it hit the set overboost limit. Try setting it little higher and give it another go. It really makes no sense that when you turn the boost down it holds to redline.. So you saying it will hold your set boost till redline at lower boost levels but not at 19psi??

Another question here.... Is that dyno graph from a pull where you overboosted and the boost controller cut the boost down to 10psi? If it is that would explain the drop off in power in the 5-7k range.

The boost guage was at 70% duty cycle when it was over boosting, i turned it down to 60% and it worked fine so i turned it up to 63% and it worked fine al that day. The next day i did a pull and it started overboosting again, i turned it back to 60% and it has been fine. As far as setting the actual overboost limit i haven't figured out how to do that.

As far as boost leak Im fairly certain that there isnt any leak because i can hold boost all day now that its down to 60%, i mean its like 18.6-19.2lbs, but i thought that is an acceptible amount?

The dyno chart with the blue lines is with the overboost

Either knock is pulling timing or its set for lower timing at that loadpoint. Or that EBC is jacking your boost around.
Have a log?

FYI, this is exactly why EBC's are garbage.

That dip at the end of the dyno graph might be ignition misfire. The tuner should know how to recognize that....

If it were a misfire I think he would know, pretty sure its that EBC and that overboost bs.

Well it has been misfiring at only at the top of first and second, and only then. Its kind of wierd we tested everything and couldnt figure it out. After the pull on the dyno i asked the operator there and he didnt think it was misfire. No knock counts i still cant get a log posted but ill ask my buddy if he can do it.

Im really leaning to the overboosting but i dont know what would cause that, hopefully its something thats not bad, and if it is...is anyone gettin rid of a 30r..:)

side note qnz your car looks sick! nice job
