Hey.. Im using a 1g ems on a 1g but with a 2g knock sensor, which is recommended in the aem forums.
I seen only 1 person post up what voltage levels they consider 'safe knock'.
They claim anything up to 1.5 volts is safe for stock piston/rod motor, but they have tuned as high as 2.0volts.
Right now im seeing just 0.8volts on 25.5psi on 94 and meth, just wondering if anyone has any insight before I push the stock motor more. Im trying to get a good low 11 on pump and stock motor before the built one goes in, and just trying to get my feet wet here.
Whats the best advice, should I turn up the boost 3-4lbs, or do some more tuning with the timing at my current level? I would think, up the boost to as much as I want to run, than tune the timing values?...
AFR's are around 11.3-11.4 I may lean them out to 11.5-11.6. The car has gone 11.7 @ 123mph with a 2.0 60ft, so there's more room. Im also having boost recovery issues.. not spool problems, only when shifting. My meth isn't controlled progressively so im wondering if maybe its causing a quenching effect.
Thanks.
