I have been having some issues with my super afc as of late. It is the model right before the super afc with the dial that glows, meaning it has 4 directional buttons and a previous and forward button.
What has been happening is while i'm driving in gear it reads the rpm's correctly, but when i go to shift or whenever i lay off of the throttle the rpm's on the afc will jump to a lot higher of an rpm then my car is actually going. Also sometimes it will jump under normal driving and cause my car to misfire. Whenever the rpm's on the afc jump my air fuel ratio gauge will jump rich and the car will stumble.
I have searched the forums for someone with a similiar problem as mine but have not come up with anything.
My car is a 1990 Eagle Talon TSi. I have picked my brain over this and think maybe it is the cam angle sensor starting to go bad or maybe the throttle position sensor but i cant be 100% on it. Also if i'm coasting at 3,000 it will jump around between 4k rpm and 7k rpm. Any responses will be highly appreciated.
