[RESOLVED] IC socket notch?

Im socketing my own ECU.

Does it matter where the little notch is at?

Please look at the pics. The one installed is from dsmlink and next to it is the one i got off of digi-key. I used the dsmlink serial number and digi-keys sent me a little different kind.

DSM link socket notch is in the middle and the other one is a little bit more to the side.

does it matter where it is?

Both of those sockets would be correctly oriented if you installed them with their notches facing the way you show them. The minor difference in where on that edge it's located is meaningless.

It does make it easier when you forget which way the chip goes. Even then, there are plenty of pictures to reference.

That was my first time socketing an ECU and it works.
