pocketlogger with aem wideband

Please explain why it won't work? Mine worked just fine with PocketLogger.

Just wire in the 0 - 5v output into the Rear O2 sensor input wire at the ECU. Make sure you cut the wire and tape up the side going to the RearO2 sensor. Then whenever you log Rear O2, you'll be seeing the output voltage, up to 1.26v from the WBO2 (AFR = 10:1 thru AFR = 12.5:1). It won't help you at idle unless you go with the P3 calibration output scheme which will allow you read all the way to 18.5:1.

Keep in mind, that I've never tried it with the P3 calibration, only P1. I only learned about that option after I installed DSMLink.

You'll just have to convert output voltage to AFR, but that would be easy with a spreadsheet.

Pin #75

it wont work with the 1g, was told this by digital tuning, and just figured the 2g was the same

I had no idea this was possible with Pocketlogger. Do you know if Pocketlogger will do this with other widebands as well? Do you have a screen shot of a Pocketlogger datalog with AFR's?

IT will work with any wideband that has an analog output compatible with one of the ECU's unneeded inputs. I don't have a screen shot, but I was running it that way for about a year. It won't give you AFR directly, only the corresponding voltage. Then you just have to convert to AFR, but it beats having to watch the gauge. :)

I emailed Pocketlogger about this exact thing.

AEM UEGO Wideband

This is the response I received from Mike at Pocketlogger.

You need to connect the 0-5v output from the WBo2 device to the ECU
Pin 15 on a DSM.
Pin 53 on a 3/s.

Then set up the scaling in the software (Preferences->WB Setup)

Mike Montalvo

I will install the AEM wideband in approximately 2 weeks. I will let you know how it goes.

There ya go!

See folks, this is why posting rule 3 is in italic red at the top of the reply box.

Thanks for clearing up the misinformation spread by one of our newer members.

Better be careful with Pin 15 on a 2g, since you need to cut the input wire to the ECU and spice in the WBO2 output wire. On a 2g Pin 15 is the #4 injector, so that isn't going to work.

Also, it looks like his response to your question might be with regards to the PocketLogger ZT software and not the regular OBD-II / OBD-I datalogging software. You can check out a screen shot of the WBO2 setup screen here for the ZT software.

Here is the Prefs screen in the 1g DSM version and you can see that there isn't anything relating to a WBO2 setup.

You must be logged in to view this image or video.

EDIT -> Nevermind, apparently he released a different version of the 1g DSM software that allows for a WBO2 input and never updated the screenshots on his site. I had to dig around in the forums to find the posts. Keep in mind, this won't work with Pin 15 on a 2g, only a 1g.

I have mine wired on my 1g to pin 15. You'll have to adjust the offset to get the A/F number on the pocket logger to match the AEM gauge readout since the pocketlogger is setup to read PLX widebands. Mine is set at -.75

So there is something in the Pocketlogger software that allows you to monitor wideband a/f ratios when you wire your wideband to the ecu?

Really guys..... Ok, here goes. Yes you can wire your wideband into your ECU and log with MMCD. Use the EGRT input into the ECU for your wideband output. My internet is to slow for me to find the link out here, but this has been gone over ALOT....

I finally got around to installing the AEM UEGO wideband on my 1g. I cut the wire on Pin 15 of the ECU and connected the wideband 0-5v output wire to the lead going into the ECU. I taped off the remaining wire going into the car.

I then went into the logging preferences and selected WB02. Took the car for a quick spin and it logged the WB02 just as it is supposed to.

I would post a picture of a log but everytime I hit the synch button on the Palm, my computer screen turns blue and restarts.

If this is XP, go to Start -> Control Panel -> System. Click on the "Advanced" tab and then click "Settings" under "Start up and Recovery". Under the "System Failure" section, uncheck the box that says "Automatically Restart".

This will stop the PC from restarting right after the BSOD. Then hook up your Palm and try to sync. You'll get the BSOD, but you can now write down the Stop Error and we can attempt to fix the problem.

Post up the error when you get a chance and I'll see if I can help you get the problem resolved.
