Still having safc tuning problems
I don't know why my last thread didn't post but.....oh well
After I fixed my stupid errors, I finally tried setting my afc. I can't exactly remember where I saw it, but I set the low setting on my afc like this:
1k-39%
2k-13%
3-8k at 3%
I'm set at karman, my low and high throttle is set at 35 and 85 respectively. my autometer a/f gauge is reading right on the stoic/rich line. figuring everything is set, I go for a test drive. I barely make it out of my parking lot before I start running overly rich, my engine starts shakin like mad, and my exhaust sounds like drum beating. i tried adjusting my settings to lean it out, but no matter what I did, nothing worked. So I bring the car back. check the ecu and popped the hood, and everything is in place. so what is the problem? why can I still not set my afc? I never figure a lp fuel pump and 550 cc injectors would make it run so bad. I would take it to a shop to tune it but it's 35 minutes away, and my car won't go any faster than 20-25 mph. so what the hell am I supposed to do now?

I'm not an SAFC expert, but how did you pick your "starting point"? Without changing anything else on your car, just bolting in 550's should require a change of approximately -22%. Every car is different and you may need to adjust your numbers, which it seems you got off RRE's site. To really tell us what your high settings are too. It sounds like you are too rich to me. That -39% at idle is killing you--why did you set that? If you have your honeycombs in (which you should), I don't think that would run right.
It is tough to determine what you have set wrong, but I would start with say -10 or -15% across the board, EVERYWHERE and then make slow adjustments. Don't change too many variables at a time.

i tried lowering the negative vaules, with some results. I can drive 50 mph now.....tho something else did happen. my check engine light came on. I got out of the car and felt under the my intercooler and lower pipe to feel a constant gush of air, which will more than likely explain why i didn't even hear my bov go off........tho it's still early, I'm gonna call it quits for the night and do some more research. in the morning, ill check all the engine bay connections, intercooler pipes, and my afc wiring again( the wires are still hanging out to make it easier to visually see that everything in connected right, set the hi and low to between -10 and -15, and go from there. so I'm making some progress.
The only other issue I'm still having is that my afl off the afc is still reading 0.0........I'll have to do some research on that too. thx for the help man.

My AFl on my 91 Talon TsI AWD reads 0.0% at all times as well and so does my friends in his 99 Eclipse GS-T. I thought this AFl setting was for a diff type of car....

If you want to know the ariflow, then karmen is what you want to look at. It is converted over to hertz.
