Some other threads brought a curiosity to my mind. Is there a distributor that fits the 4g63 as a direct bolt on? I've made them from scratch before but i don't want to for this application. The only reason I'm considering this is to go full sequential on my older stand alone where i would need the output used for coil # 2 to drive the 4th injector on a sequential setup.

I've tuned Honda's in the 9's that run a distributor, so i really don't see it as something that's going to hold me back from anything. I'm just thinking about experimenting with sequential injection and injector phasing.

Any help on this would be great, and if you've got a distributor that will fit the 4g63 and want to sell it , PM me and I'll buy it!!!

EDIT: to be clear, i only tuned ONE honda that's in the 9's. Mean CRX, i did the first tune on it in the 10's and was amazed, a larger turbo, some new cams and a 100 shot later it's in the 9's

I remember exactly what thread youre talking about.

As mentioned, you may be able to adapt the 1.8 disty.

Mind expanding on the sequential injection and injector phasing for the sake of the thread?

My stand alone is an older one, so the output used to drive the second coil is the same one i would use for injector 4 if i were to go sequential. As for injector phasing that's just being able to adjust exactly when each injector fires in relation to the cranks position BTDC. It allows you to set it up for the best and cleanest burn you can get.

I mainly just want to run sequential to see how much gas i can save!! The sequential is just firing only the injector that needs to fire on each cylinder, instead of firing them off in pairs in batch fire mode, because when firing them in pairs your just shooting gas at a closed valve twice as often as you really need to, so i'd like to go that route and see if i can do better on emmisions and like i said earlier, gas milage!

BTW, does the 1.8 distributor run off the head like most hondas, or does it go into the block some where?

I know that i can use an ignitor from an 88-89 turbo II RX-7 that automatically toggles ignition back and forth between 2 coils, this allow me to run the stock ignition and sequential injection at the same time. But honestly i wouldn't mind playing around with a distributor a little.

I know this is super old but this is what you do, found from CSM summit forum:

Mirage 4G15 distributor into a 4G63T DOHC cylinder head, I decided to try it. He really didn't give much information about this mod and only posted 3 or 4 times in the 16 pages of topic. So I decided to take it upon myself to get this to work. For those that don't know the 92-96 Mitsubishi Mirage SOHC distributor has the exact same firing order, 6 pin connector and 2 pin connector as my SOHC 4G64 motor.I was planning on going DOHC eventually anyways but didn't feel like messing with the rewiring of the a turbo ecu to use the CAS and coilpack thats suppose to go into the 4G63T DOHC cylinder head.On to the how to part:The main thing to do is to take your distributor completely apart (most shops will not take it apart for you). After taking it apart there are 2 pieces that will need to be machined. One of the pieces is the mounting plate with ear pieces, it contains the locator steps and o- ring groove for the distributor. The second piece will be the shaft and Distributor metal body, you will need to have the shaft turned down to the right overall length and diameter(if the keyway gear doesn't just slide on).Take a 1G CAS with the 2 distributor pieces, show the machine shop how they go together and come apart so they can measure the dimensions correctly. Tell them you want your distributor end to look exactly like the 1G CAS.Now the results:1st picture is shows how ther ear tabs are backwards from the manufacturer of the 4G15 distributor vs. the 1G CAS. All that needed to be done was rotate it and now it matches the 1G CAS more. Also notice the new 4G15 distributor is machined like a 1G CAS, the keyway gear was taken off the 1G CAS and put on to the distributor end, its a bi*** to get out the pin that holds the keyway gear is pressed in. That first step you see with unmachined notches is just a locator diameter for the distributor it will not hurt it what so ever to be like that as long as the outside diameter and depth is correct. The second diameter is the important one with the O-ring groove that actually seals the distributor into the head. You get this wrong you will have a small oil leak.
