I'm getting fuel cut prety bad. I just installed the bushur racing 2.5" turbo back w test pipe. I'm getting 14-15psi. when before this it was getting 10 psi. And yes I have an autometer guage to accurately measure boost. To me, this sounds like boost creep. Didn't do it before. The only other mods that were done were the free mods to mas and on the air can. Any idea? Will an o2 sensor housing help? or do I send my ecu off to TMO for mods. t6rocket also said that he would mod my mas to eliminate fuel cut for a low fee. Will this work? I dont want to blow it up and it sucks to have the party busted right when the dogs are comin out. I've got a brand new 16g and hallman just humpin my leg to be put on but not until I get this figured out. I want to spend my money wisely where it's gonna make the biggest difference.

I recomend the HKS FCD fuel cut deffencer....alters the signal to the ecu. But u better have enough fuel. good luck

You need a set of at least 550cc injectors and an AFC. That way you can reduce the amount of airflow the engine is seeing and prolong fuel cut.

Put the hallman in there. It takes less then 5 minutes to install. Also purchase a fuel pump. This combo should make your big16g happy for awhile.

Yes! Al helped me out this weekend...pulls past 7k with no fuel cut. Now to tackle boost creep;)

Thanks alot I'll do the mas first. Then ill do fuel pump and o2 housing. By the way, Is it really worth while to port my stock o2 housing or should I just go ahead and get an EVO housing? the stock 1G one looks like theres not enough to work with without risking the thing cracking all to S^#T.Here again, I just want to spend right the first time.

EVO housing means you'll need a new downpipe. Better (cheaper) to get a 2G one.

Also, you have boost creep issues; you should plan on porting your wastegate...

I already have a whole buschur 2.5" downpipe back on and thats when I encountered boost creep. are you sure that I need to replace that to?

Just hog the hell out of a 2g housing...you'll be fine. This way you can keep your DP.

The way you are describing it, you dont have boost creep. Boost creep is when the boost goes to where your set it, say 16 psi, then as you get in the higher rpms, it gradually rises up to 20+. It does it more in higher gears.

Getting 10 psi before the exhaust, and 14-15 after is normal. Do you really want to run less than 15 psi?? That is pretty much the lowest boost level on a modified DSM.

Hey Al, didn't know you posted here as well. Still working on my creep issues. Jon will be porting the wastegate area (if I don't splurge and go external as a contingency for a future larger turbo) and o2 housing on the car, as well as doing the IC, manifold, and a t-belt change. Bye-bye p-knock and creep! (I hope)

Well I was just assuming that's what it was. If 14-15 psi is the norm for exh upgrade, then thats what I got. It goes to 11 psi rather quick @2300 rpm then as rpms increase, so does boost. I haven't got it past 6000 rpm to tell if it goes any higher because I hit fuel cut and I back off before I kill the engine. Taxes are only a couple of weeks away so I'm going to get ahold of you first and send my mas to you. But, Ive heard so many opinions and suggestions on what else to do next. (injectors, pump, afc, mbc.) Which do I do next? I'm doing things one at a time and I want it driveable meaning that I want to at least be able to get on it w/o worrying about fuel cut and doing damage to my engine also. So whats the next item I absolutely have to get?

Technically, that is boost creep, but I would just set it on 15 psi so you can enjoy the surge of torque when it spools up!

I would put an upgraded fuel pump along with my MAS and you should be fine to run 17 psi all the time! Actually, you could get away with 19-20 psi - even on pump gas, but I dont recommend more than that on the 14B.

Later,
Al
