In need of a quick accurate response. Can the ecu caps be replaced after they have leaked. I have another ecu that died on me and i need this fixed immediately. The engine stopped running in the middle of the road and the check engine light didnt turn on the next time i went to start up. Plus it has the fishy smell associated with it. NOT GOOD. So can i replace the caps after the caps have leaked?

Thanks

Hmmm, how many times have you read that this is a MUST on our ecus if it hasn't been done yet? Sometimes the caps can be replaced, it just depends on how bad the damage is.... most of the time if it's bad enough to where it's affecting the car's ability to run the ecu will need more than caps. Good luck, the only way is to take it apart and look.

I know, i know, i know. I have know idea why i dont replace them, but i was even going to on this one, but it died so quickly. Less than a month installed on the car it died. Im gonna take it apart, i just wanted to know if it still is even possible before i pay someone money to fix it and it still doesnt work.

Thanks for the quick response.
