Okay I didn't see any posts on this topic and maybe someone can help me out.

I installed an air/fuel gauge in my car and at first it bounce around like it is suppose to. Then one day I was on my way home from work and I turned a corner like I do everyday but for some reason I had a crap load of power. I looked at my gauge and it was buried on the rich side. I let off on the gas so it would drop back down and it didn't. Well the rest of the way home was real fun. I scared myself a couple of times due to the power my car was putting out. Every since then it does it after I have been driving for a little bit. I have noticed that when it is not stuck I turn my car off and my air/fuel gauge lights go out right away. But when it is stuck I turn the car off and the lights stay on for about 30 seconds and then I hear my ECU click and the light go out.

Anyone know what could be causing this and is it bad?

It's possessed. Get it exorcised as quickly as you can. 8)

Seriously though, anything not working like it should is bad. If it were just your O2 readings staying pegged, I'd just suspect your O2 sensor, and I'd still recommend testing it (there are instructions for that in the Haynes manual, IIRC).

As for the lights problem, that's more interesting, since all of that should be switched directly off the ignition. Your mods list doesn't cover a turbo timer; are you the original owner, or did you buy the car from someone else? If so, do you know whether they installed a timer, and is it still buried somewhere? How about an alarm? You may have to tear into the wiring of your car quite a bit to be certain that you don't have some left-over damage from earlier work.

Good luck!

No turbo timer installed by previous owner and a bypassed alarm system on the car. I have installed a turbo timer myself but have disabled it due to a missing problem I had a while back and was not sure if it had anything to do with it.

Definitely check the wiring on that guage. I had something similar to that...the wire was coming loose from the wire that I tapped and caused it to jump around randomly when I hit bumps and stuff. Sounds like you probably used a cable crimp to tap into the o2 wire and it might have cut the wire. Check the wiring.
