The ecu in my 92 awd mt talon, MD166262, crapped out on me. Opened it up and the board wasn't looking too good. Cleaned it up, soldered in new caps, still no go.

The local import yard has a huge stack of dsm ecus, but not one of the 6262s. Is there an ecu that I can swap in that requires no changes to the harness? If not, what is my simplest route (swapping pin 6 and 14?) Using the ecu list at vfaq http://www.vfaq.com/mods/ECUs.html could I grab one from an auto car, or california car?

A 6262 went on ebay about a month ago, but it in the middle of the auction the guy realized it was an eeprom ecu, so it went way too high.. all i'm looking to do is get the car running again.

Any turbo ecu from 91-94 will work.Awd,fwd,auto,5 spd, doesnt matter.I currently have an awd ecu in my fwd tsi.And its eprom, the one it replaced wasnt.

I beg to differ with the last poster. It can be any ecu from a FWD or AWD that is MT. An auto ecu will cause you to run too rich because it is programmed for 390cc injectors. The MT ecu is programmed for 450cc injectors.
