Ign & +12 wire for Gauges

I cant seem to find any information of which wire is the Ignition and the Constant 12 volts. I currently have my egt guage hooked up to the lights, so they only work when I turn my lights on. I've searched and read all the faq's that I could find, and no one even mentions the ign and +12 wire at all.

Does anyone know where to find these mystical (to me anyways) wires?

Do you want the lights to be on all the time? I have the gauge hooked up to the dimmer and it works perfect.

Yeah I have my EGT guage hooked up to my dims as well, but that means that it only works when my lights are on. I and Wayne need to find a ignition wire so that it will turn on with the car instead of directly to the battery where it will be on All the time.
