im pretty sure ive tried every combination of wires on the pins 1,10,12

anyone have a cable that looks like this ?

if so what wires go where , i bought it off a friend , who cant remember where he got it. ROFL , well ebay , but doesnt remember who. he never even used it.

so im kinda SOL. it usally says : ecu communication error, then when take the cable off its says " serial communication error "

he said , its the cable that supposed to connect directly to the hotsync cable.

its a palm100 using mmcd. palm version 3.5.3

help me out here guys ! ! !

Take a multimeter and check for continuity on the cable that connects to the ECU between pin 5 and the three ends....2 should show continuity.....those go to pin 10 and 12....doesn't matter. The remaining wire goes to pin 1.

I am pretty sure this is right....someone correct me if i am wrong.
 
what would i set my multimeter to ?
