I was wondering how far in the positive people have gone while tuning with a safc before they hit fuel cut? I am getting around 10 counts of knock and 14* timing at 6k rpm's on a s16g MKIV i/c and evo8 580cc injectors at 21psi with the safc hi settings at +2%. I am running a hacked 1g mas also with the lower chamber ported out. How much higher can i go without having to worry about fuel cut and get rid of the knock? My base fuel pressure is set at 43psi.

I plan on running at the track tomorrow so quick replies would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Fuel cut is based on airflow. Without knowing your airflow (hertz) a valid answer can not be given. I've seen cars add 25% airflow and not cut, and I've seen cars cut with fuel taken out. It really depends upon how much AIR you are flowing in relation to how much the computer is expecting you to flow. The hacked mas, if done correctly, may be helping you in fighting fuel cut. I guess the final answer will be have fun with Trial and Error at the track. Also, when tuning with the s-afc, try to move in increments of 2% and 5%. Corrections of 1% are rarely noticed and can be more dependant upon changing weather conditions versus actually doing something to the map (unless you are on the ragged edge of a tune).
Best of luck.

Well my understanding of the safc is that it intercepts the actual airflow hz from the mas and modifies the signal going to the ecu. So if i am in the positive on the safc that means i am actually telling the ecu that more airflow is coming in through the mas and therefore injects more fuel correct?? My mas is hacked pretty good as i went from overrunning it at 18psi to running 21psi without a problem. I haven't tried anymore boost yet but i think i may be able to run more if i can add fuel and not hit fuel cut. On RRE's website they had to richen up there 1g (16g) between +4 to +8% on the hi settings. I am seeing 7 counts of knock between 4k rpms and 4.5k rpm's and it goes down gradually to 1 count at 6.5k rpms and then at 7k its 10 counts. My safc settings are 1k -7 2k -4 3k-4 4k-2 4.5k+1
5k-7k+2. Even with knock counts between 3-5 my timing is still between 16-20*

This log was also after about 3 3rd and 4 gear pulls so maybe i was heat soaking the mkiv a bit and therefore seeing higher knock counts??
