Okay..I'm sure this will get a lot of obligatory "every car is different" (s), but according to the formula I have seen posted here to "zero" an AFC with 550s the across the board setting should be -17. My setiings are (with no EGT hooked up yet) I run settings in the neighborhood of -10 on my highs (my idea of playing it safe) finishing off with -6 or -7 on the 6500rpm setting. I run -17 flat out on the LO table. I am still running rich (soot on bumper). Is it "safe" to drop the LO table a couple of points, and do the same with the HI? Drop the LOs and wait for EGT on the HI? Should I sell my AFC and buy Altezzas? (just seeing if you were awake;) ) YES, I see the thread about AFC settings at the top of the forum.

Do you have a logger? Low trims are best set with a logger, the HI as well. I suggest getting a logger or borrowing one from a local DSMer and get some logs done. That is the only real "safe" way to mess with your fuel. You can adjust the AFC HI settings according to O2 and EGT and you can set the LO the same way RRE says to (rev and hold an RPM, leaning out that RPM until your hear popping, then richen it up a couple % from that point), but to be "safe", get a logger.

I sorta, kinda have acess to a logger (30 mins away, and well used by its owner). Guess I'll take some cash out of the next check and go ahead and get one. Thanks for leaving out the "every car is different";)

I'm at atleast -20 if not more with my 650's and the AFC.

Is that highs? The highs are what frighten me. Lows I can do with the RRE technique, though the trims are probably still a little off. (if not more)

Maybe with that 2g mani and EGT (prob) coming with my DP...we can get some better monitoring going on on my end. Will try to log some this weekend at a couple of different AFC settings. Nuthin too radical.

What O2 voltages and EGT temps would you be looking for in Hi rpms?
