i have 680cc injectors and because i have to minus the safc out so much it causes the timing to be very high.so my question is,does the MAF-T setup basically do the same thing? fools the ecu in seeing less air, therefor bringing the timing higher? i know the right way to do this is to get a eprom chip, but i am having a hard time finding a 90 eprom ecu..i can get a good deal on a maf-t setup, but dont want to run into the same problems.thanks guys

The maft has the same effect as the afc as far as timing is concerned. Your only other option is to gat an afpr and lower fuel pressure. Then you can richen the afc up some and get timing advance to a reasonable level. The only real advantages the maft has over afc is to allow a more free flowing intake(removing the restrictive stock mas) and to vent the bov.

really,so an afpr could help...how much lower can i set my pressure?i have my 190 rewired and it could very well be over-running the stock fpr...thanks for the help

AFPR is a good tool to help with tunning, but as you stated before a 90 eprom with a
680 chip is the way to go, especially since you already have the safc which is more for fine tuning. It is close to impossible to control such large injectors (680) with either a safc or a MAF-T. So do not waste your money on a MAF-T if you already have one fuel computer and keep looking for that eprom and then you will have a good fuel controlling system with the combo of the ecu, safc, and afpr. Check out E-bay and the classified here. I see them all the time. Best of luck.

i was also shocked by the book that came with my maft.i didnt think anything short of standalone could control 1030cc's.
