TPS-several questions

First is newbie. What does it control? I ask because it is causig y Scanmaster/logger to default to the first screen near WOT. I removed the sensor clip and the Scanmaster will lock to any screen I want and the car runs fine with no ill effects on fuel, timing. Plugged it back on. It reads 10 at idle, that seems high. Directions for setting the TPS, can it be set by percent at idle? Ordo I need a meter? Thanks. I need the Scanmaster to work and don't know why the TPS is affecting it. I thought the TPS played a factor in fueland timing. mark

Hey Ryan how's the ride running? The scanmaster I depend upon defaults to the start-up screen as I approach WOT. Nate at DSMchips suggested I try the stock chip to elimiate or "convict" the keydiver chip for one thing. It worked for a couple months with the keydiver so I don't know why it should cause trouble now. The other was that my TPS could have a "flat" spot near WOT and checking the voltage output for smooth .5v-5volts could be another possibility. I m leaning towards that. I will buy a multi-meter this morning and check that. I rely heavily upon the Scamaster for engine data. Those palms...well an 8lb. sledge solves that problem, I would have shot it if I had a gun! Unplugging the TPS lets me lock to any screen like IDC and spark and air flow for a couple of favorites. I will post my results. Mark
