1G-specific rebuil or buy new??

since my engine is basically crap for almost all the parts inside of it, i was determining wether to buy parts for and just rebuild it myself or to just go and buy a racing engine for it. i'm kinda stuck between two rocks ### i figured that the price for me to rebuild would be around the $8,500 range but if i could pick up an engine for less i was thinking that would be the better way to go. any opinions on what they think would be the better way to go, please post.

what happened to stock engine? did it blow up and is now un-rebuildable or what? If the blocks good and w/in spec then rebuild her w/ all forged goodies.

1G-specific

the block is still good i was just juggling around with the money issue because if i did rebuild it myself i was going to do the whole works from the crankshaft on up for modified parts. i didnt know if it would be better for me to just buy a racing motor or to just rebuild my engine. i mean i won't have enough money for some time to do it anyways.

If you can do it yourself, go for it! Theres alot more satisfaction in doing something yourself and seeing it run, than to have someone eles do all the hard work for you.

????????????????
*Buy your engine, don't assemble it yourself.
-If you have to ask, buy it assembled with a warranty of some sorts.
(I'm just basing this off from everything you have said in this post, your choice of words leads me to believe you are better off leaving to a professional)

That was sarcastic, meaning that $8500 is damn expensive.
