what timing range should i look for when logging?

since i cant transfer logs to my PC to review it, im going to have a friend watch the palm pilot while a do a few runs. what is normal timing for certain ranges? i want to say last i checked it was around 60 when running WOT 3K-6K, and that does not sound right according to other people's posted logs.

you need to do a datalog of a WOT run through 3rd gear. Log rpm, timing, knock, and o2 if you want.

Even if you can't get ti on your PC you can still view your logs on the Palm.

did you jsut say you timming was in the 60's??????? thats no where near right i think you may have been mistaken.. its should be around WOT gradually go up to around 21 but i only see about 18 on my 2.3 some cars vary but if your over 23 then you need to post a log so we can see

i WOULD post a log, but like i said, i have no luck in getting the log viewer to work on my PC, so i cant even view what my ECU did during the run. i will have my friend look at it tomorrow while i run it. its hard to drive, watch for cars, cops, little kids, and animals while im watching the palm. but i do know that i watched it at idle after crank up and the timing was around 32, but that probably means nothing

What logger are you running???

You should be able to save and view your log after you stop driving on the PALM. You don't have to transfer it to a PC to view, it's just easier to view it on the PC.

i figured out how to review the log on the palm pilot and saw that timing stayed mainly in the 8-9 degree range and knock retard was around 5. the O2 volts were between .89 and .94 i have my timing set to 10 BTDC and it just seems like the car runs very sluggish for 18 psi

ill have to sit down with the palm pilot and type my logs here. i did notice every once in a while the timing peaked at 60, but it didnt gradually get there, it seemed random

if your running 18lb of boost on stock injectors with a big 16g that is not good. also it seems to me your base timing is messed up. turn the boost down before you blow your car up. im suprised to see only 5 counts of knock for that big of a turbo and no fuel mods except a rewire.

i have been having some sort of the same problem. i put my logger back on my car to fine tune it for the track and noticed that the timming advance was going into the 40's yes the 40's. the o2 has been reading fine as well as no knock. i dont have my logger at the moment was in my car when it got impounded so i have no way of getting you the info on a log till next week.

We're you getting 40+ under WOT or just Cruising???? Its not unsual to see timing close to high 30s to 40 especially with big injectors... cruising i see anywhere from 32-38 depending Throttle position... I get 39-40 on Decelleration.
