Question This is a weid injector problem!

Ok I have a 1992 Eagle Talon TSi. I recently rebuilt the top end after it jumped timing on me before it did so and now even after I have repaired it the car has a weird intermittent misfire. After hours of diagnosis I have found the problem now all I need to know is how do I fix it? The problem lies in the wiring of the #4 fuel injector (the last on left on the passenger side of the fuel rail) The green wire with a white tracer is the ECM signal wire the other is the power when I ground out the signal wire using a grounding strap the miss stops. Why is this? Is the ECM the problem completely does it need to be replaced and if so wouldn’t I have a trouble code off the diagnostic port represented by the check engine light? What the heck is going on how could this happen anyway the wiring harness for the injectors is stock and unmodified. Does anyone have any ideas to help me?

I think I have the same problem cause my car when parked at idle. I hear this crackling noise from cylinder 3 or 4, I think and the car wants to die but I dont know what its is. I checked for spark on the wires and they all work. Its just that crackling misfire noise that makes the car idle between 650 & 900 rpms.

Your wires are probably arching. It's also one of the signs of ECU caps going bad.

As for the first post, trace that wire and look for cracks/breaks. Thos wires get hot, hard and brittle. Replace the whole plug with both wires if needed.

When you ground out the signal wire, I think you're telling the injector to pulse or turn "on" while it's grounded out. I thought the ECU used an active low signal to pull that line low.
