Anyone else have problems with their Walbro pumps going bad very early? I have been having massive problems with the car going full lean as soon as I step on the pedal. Its to the point that I dont even drive the car. I've checked everything... swapped out computers; AFPR's, and am not sure where else to go. I get just over 14volts to the pump when the car is running...The one thing that I have noticed is that this Walbro pump (HP255) is not making the usual loud whine like it was before. Infact, it sounds about like a stock pump. With the car idling and the pump cover plate removed, I have to lean over very close to my Walbro to hear it. This pump only has about 2500 miles on it. If I do need to replace it, what pump would you guys recommend? I need lots of fuel as I am running an SCM61 turbo, and 780cc injectors and plan on running above 25psi on race fuel at the track. I know the pump is working because if I dissconnect the power wired from the battery the car dies. Any and all help is GREATLY appreciated. Please guys I need assistance. This car is ready to hammer out an 11 sec run if I could just figure this nightmarish problem out.

I've got the same problem also with the same turbo and same injectors. My pump never made the usual whining noise I expected it to make, and I have been getting some knock at anything over 20 psi ever since I got the pump. I read in a few other posts that the pumps were redesigned to now be quiet.

Mine use to run fine...the whine was very prominent and easily heard over the exhaust. Now, after the car has been sitting for about two months it sounds like a stock pump. I am going to reinstall a stock fuel pump and see if that helps my lean situation at all. I guess I will try another fuel filter to be on the safe side but the filter I have on there now only has about 2k mile on it. This is driving me crazy.
