laval,
Hi,

In the last week, I’ve been having some serious problem with my TMO datalogger. I can actually get my laptop to connect to the TMO box. However, it disconnects and goes in “link down” status, only a few seconds after the connection.

I tried to change the serial cable.
I tried to change the default com port parameters. (I’ve seen some slight difference, but maybe it was just weird luck. The time before the disconnection seemed to increase when I increment the maximum port speed. (Tried from 9600 up to 900k+))
I tried running it without the car running. (ignition at “ON”, but not started)
I tried running it with the car running.
I did try a different ECU.
The computer’s running Windows 98.
It used to work correctly until 2-3 weeks ago.
Each time it lost syncro, I needed to manually kill the program because it froze...

I’m actually out of ideas… I’ve ordered a palm cable so I’ll be able to try MMCD on it…

Anyone have any idea on what I should try?

Thanks,
Karl

I have the same exact problem. What windows operating system are you using. I have XP and I also have to convert the DB9 serial to USB so I'm not sure which is the problem. I've logged with TMO before with the same cable but I had an ancient computer at the time with Win95 and it actually had the DB9 port instead of all USB. Let me know if you figure it out because I'm getting tired of fighting this thing.

Thanks,
Brian
