In some tunning forums people are saying or suggesting that they are running their stock fuel pressure regulators with the vac. line disconnected. I know that this is done to test the FPR to see if its functioning properly at idle(as shown in the shop manuels). It results in higher pressure with it not hooked up, but if the car is driven (rpms increased over idle) the regulator will not function properly, as it has nothing telling it how much resistance to put on the fuel rail(1:1ratio), basically a dead regulator as i see it. So why are people disconnecting the lines??? If its to raise the pressure I dont see how that would work beyond idle!!!

they shouldnt be. You are exactly right about the pressure sensor and the 1:1 ratio. It should only be disconnected during base setting

You disconnect it for A few seconds to adjust it only, you put it back on and drive.
