Well I have a hacked maf and walbro 190, no cat, 17-18psi. (figured thats all you would need) When i get on it and get to the top of third and fourth my car feels like its hittin fuel cut. But thats impossible cause my a/f gauge is tellin me way rich and my temps get to about 1600 or higher. I know too much fuel would make it hot as well as lean. I guess my question is could i be running so rich that it just boggs when im runnin hard with full boost at high rpm? please help me out.
By the way, dont tell me i need to get an AFC because im gettin one as soon as get some scrilla

LOL, well you answered your own question. 17-18psi is a lot for pump gas, and you should have some good supporting mods if your running that. You said 1600+, which probably means your running very hot/lean and getting a lot of knock, which is why your feeling that jerking/hesitation. You should try and borrow someones logger and see how much knock, and timing your getting. Anything over 1600 is pretty fuggin hot, so be careful...

Lean = less fuel = hot = bad,
Rich = more fuel = cool = good

That's a start. You don't want the temperatures to get Above 1600 F, you always want them below there.

Just because you're getting enough fuel doesn't mean you're not hitting fuel cut (I'm pretty sure).

You sound like you have a lot of things mixed up. Read a lot of websites about DSMs, and go easy until then, turn down the boost a bit to 15 psi, before you burn up your motor.

Hope that helps

Ive been running like this for a while. 17-18psi is ok with the mods i have. I would think its impossible to be running lean because of the walbro pump and my a/f gauge is tellin me richer than rich. I guess i just need to quit talking about shyt and get me an afc. Even if i have race gas (115) runnin at 16psi or 20psi it does the same thing. It doesnt do it all the time just every once in while. thanks for the info

Which probably proves that your running a bit lean. What kind of a/f gauge you hve...autometer?? Use someones logger that you know and get a quick answer. If its above 1600 all the time then I doubt your running "richer than rich".

I shouldve been more clear i guess. Only running real hard for a little while gets it to 1600. How would you guys figure im runnin lean when my a/f gauge (venom) says rich and i have a higher pressure fuel pump? Id bet a hundred bucks Im not runnin lean. Would be getting too much fuel bogg my car down? Im not dissin what you say but i just dont understand why you would say that. By the way enigmaman, too much fuel could run you hot too.

Dude, take some advice here will ya. Your running lean if your pushing 1600f on your egt or very close to it. If you trust a stupid AF gauge your insane and can kiss your motor goodbye rather soon. Do yourself a favor and get a logger and I bet you'll see some nice knock counts and your timing being pulled. I would say you need to replace you plugwires and plugs to get rid of the hesitation and put a mask over that useless AF gauge. If you continue to rely on that gauge your car will be melted plain and simple.

This is only a theory. I have just got dsmlink and it looks like I have phantom knock, this is caused by something mechanical at part throttle. Well the ecu see this as a damage causing knock and start to pull timing. I was having the same problem with shuttering on the highway and even slow driving. But even thou there is no treat to the engine at part throttle this will reduce your gas milage and cause these stupid things until the problem is solved. I can't figure mine out, but I'm starting to think its something valve related. Loud lifters can do this too. Also BOV will make a different because they vent at the slightest amount of vacume. I'm having problems with my greddy bov. That could also be the problem. If your O2 volts are between .86-.98 you should be fine for wide open throttle and for setting the low settings do the road race thing.. It work for me. Also this was the case with my 2G and dsmlink has help fix part throttle for me. The afc actually cause some loss of smoothness because it will dump to much fuel. Look for the Map sensor mod. I've got freind that did it and they like it. Sorry for the long post but if you have more question let me know. Also a AFPR will help part throttle accleration if your pushing too much fuel pressure.

you ARE running lean
turn the boost down before you pop the motor and cry about it because WE do know what we are talking about
you for one don't have the injectors to run that much boost on camel piss anyways
run 15 psi and be happy.

your knock sensor is going crazy and pulling timing causing the car to buck and stuff.

you keep this up its gonna cost dearly

p.s. get rid of the a/f gauge. its wrong. stick with the egt and for the love of pete keep it under 1500 degrees

anyways,
before you save yer "scrilla" and buy an afc........ buy a logger!!
