Have you done this mod? or did you guys just installed a in tank fuel pump....still tryin to decided on wether i should do the mod or not....i haven't gone to a bigger turbo yet...but later i will....it's just if i get the fuel pump now ...i won't have to worry bout it later on...lemme know...peace

i have done both the fuel pump & rewire. the pure reason for the rewire is to get a constant power source to the pump. the stock wiring for the pump gets old & resistant, thus providing a weak power source. it is a good idea to do it,,,,,upgraded pump or not.

where do you wire it to? does anyone know where i can find wiring diagrams for both this and for wiring a 2g mas to a 1g car. please help!!

The purpose of the rewire is to provide a more constant voltage to the pump, not a constant power source. www.vfaq.com has a good description of how it's done. This is recommended for anybody planning to up the boost and your stock pump is good to about 16-17psi max with the rewire.

I noticed a 1.5psi increase in base fuel pressure with the stock pump rewired. Stock FPR & injectors, of course.
Not enough to screw up idle or anything, just an interesting datapoint. I've heard the rewire on 255 and Supra pumps raises the base pressure over 10psi! OMG AFPR is needed for sure with those beasts!

I would say it's a good, almost free mod that really helps out your fuel pump.

I did the rewire because i got a bigger turbo and i love it it doesnt cut out at high rev and its really easy
