NJ Inspection for year '95

for NJ inspection, do they hook up OBD reader to the computer?... i'm assuming the 95 supposed to be OBDII??... anyone inspected their 95?

I believe the 95 is OBDII. Yes they will hook up the OBDII cable. The entire inspection is based off of the OBDII system if you have it. If you have a CEL, don't even bother trying to pass inspection, unless you want to buy some time for re-inspection.

I live in MA and I also have a 95 Eclipse, they do not scan and only do the sniffer test.

From what I've read it's in 96 that the mandate for all cars to be scanned because that year the feds said that all cars soled in the US must be ODBDII compliant.

But yes, 2Gs are OBDII. One of the early-adopters.

Odd that NJ would miss it- most smog regs are just cloned off California's.
