Gauging Interest for Meet in Upstate NY

it would be awesome to get people from NY, PA, CT, and NJ all together in August. It would be at a lakefront park (swimming, sports, BBQ). Nothing fancy, just get together to hang out and all. The location would be about 2 hours from NYC, Albany, Scranton, and Hartford. If this thread generates a big enough response, then I'll work on even getting vendors there and possibly some contests.

We could see how many people reply to this thread. I don't know who would want to drive to Syracuse but everybody could meet up with me and some of my friends and do something on a Saturday and then Saturday night go where all of the locals (including myself) hang out.

It would be ideal to set it up at a centralized location to the 3 states, this way no one sector has to drive a lot more than another. This past summer's location was an average of 2 hours from Albany, Long Island, Scranton PA, Danbury CT, and Newark.

Before another thread goes up though, I want some brainstorming. Contact me.

Besides, I had a bad run in with a trooper out in Syracuse on I90. Jackass wrote me up for 75 in a 65 (it was midnight!), traveling in the passing lane (again it was midnight and the road empty!), and for my OEM foglights! He seriously claimed no foglights in existence are OEM! I showed him my owner's manual and he threw it on the road. Dick.

I'm still fighting those tickets. I have to return next month for the 5th time.

This is what went down last year- people had a BBQ at my house (rural area), grabbed some ice cream a few places down, and then hit up the racino.

I'm all for opening my home to the locals again. It was a blast. Only problem was running out of room to park .

There's a million and one ways we can go about this.

well guys i can definatly reserve space in a parking lot with room to park and run small races (strip/circle)
depending on the crowd, or suggest lebanon valley for a TT nght and convoy drive. but this wouldnt be fair to outside members with longer drives. but if all else fails the option is open

allright one more reply, i wanted to find/gather locals in my area. i posted and waited for replies, i even checked out another related site i was referred to but was unsatisfied, i even mentioned to a main guy of the site to hook up items for promotion in the area. i guess im small time but this makes me want to PM the few people listed in my area for a small gathering to raise some attention. if i dont get any replies from this or the other threads im going to have my own little meet of locals, if nothing else comes up, i'll one by one invite locals, and if its not good enough ill be upset and even invite HONDAS! just to fill space!
