Ah the story of my life. I was driving to work saterday morning so I can go to the pavilians after work...all of a sudden the check engine light came on, felt like I hit a wall, car started sounding like a semi-truck exhaust, and I started getting knocks that kept coming and going as well as not normal oil pressure. I couldnt go any faster than what i was driving, and if i slowed down, then that would be the fastest i can go and so on.... I pulled over on the exit ramp at the 202 and priest.Car died as soon as i pushed the clutch in to put it in neautral and pull over, My water temperature was way passed the red lines all the way up. i waited for a couple of hours untill the car cooled down so I can start it again. I started it then I got the same knock that keeps coming and going (which is why I think I crank walked). So i called a towing company and towed it home and now its at home and I already started ripping apart the easy stuff. I think I eather spun a rod bearing or crank walked... ONE day before my upgraded t-28 turbo came in the mail. So is anybody up for helping a fellow dsmer? Im thinking of starting off by taking off the head then taking out the block. Sundays would be GREAT...let me know if anybody wants to help since I cant take it in to Holeshot untill maybe 3 weeks from now so ill get some misc shit out of his way before I take it in. Thanks in advance...

I have a feeling this thread will be locked because of your title. Sorry that this happened to you though, I know how you feel. I just got done with my 6 bolt swap recently after having the car garaged for 9 months. If I were closer I'd love to help. Good luck.

Where is Sterling HTS? Never heard of it.

its where im from, Sterling Heights, Michigan. I moved here 6 months ago from sterling heights, mi. Thats where my dsm life started.

Dang, something similiar happened to me, but it was my balance shaft eliminator kit that was done wrong on mine, I was told to just leave the sleeves with the holes for the oil to pass thru alone instead of either turning them or using the ones in the balance shaft eliminator kit(Keep inmind that at the time I was still a learner), I questioned it, but the reply that I was given made me say alright then.

Well low and behold one day after slapping everything back together i was going down the street, and gave it a little gas cause i'd baby'd the car for several days, cause after all the previous drama with it jumping timing, and bending valves, then pay to get it fixed, was done wrong, etc... etc... time went by, and BOOM! I had the saaaame symptoms(the check engine light came on, felt like I hit a wall, car started sounding like a semi-truck exhaust, and I started getting knocks that kept coming and going as well as not normal oil pressure. I couldnt go any faster than what i was driving), but mine was due to lack of oil pressure from those sleeves being left unmoved after taking out the balance shaft, parked the car for almost two years. Now in the process of doing a 6 bolt swap, and the man to look up for a good quality job is knbtsi1, good friend of mine, and I vouch for him, does real good work! knows his stuff... took my motor apart in about 5 mins, and gave me the diagnosis... I was like phuuuudge! dawg, that was fast... so yeah... look him up... and sorry to hear about your car.

But you live in the Phoenix area now, right? I thought the 202 and Priest sounded familiar.

My parents lived in Scottsdale and we would visit almost every winter.

LOL I'm from michigan too but more than likely the heat got to one of your seals and and bam no more engine unless you pulled it over instantly that's the same thing that happen to my car except it was on 75th and union

A seal usually isn't gonna cause the kind of peoblem he has.
