North and South Carolina DSM meet and shootout

Okay! I've been talking to a couple people about doing this and I have done my research to make this happen. The plan is to have this event at one of the big 1/4 mile tracks near the state lines of North and South Carolina. With that said and the research done, I would like to hold this during the weekend. The idea is to have it at Rockingham Dragstrip in North Carolina. Now the event will take place on a saturday August 23rd. I spoke with the head guy on the phone and I have all the information for those that need to know anything about drag racing at Rockingham. Earler that morning they are having an event for jrs. dragsters then around 3 they are open for test and tunes. So for anybody that u know that owns a dsm or and evo is to put the word out to them....

I should be done whit my car by then so ill be up for it i live an hour away from the rock..

I doubt we will be racing in August, the race car could make it, the street car could I guess, the 5 speed no way.

That would be cool for u to make it if u could man. It seems like u got a garage full of them. Im working on that as well.

U know I have to come up that way because my headquarters is outta Raliegh. If u want to meet up one day thats cool. I just got to go to Florida for 5 weeks then I will be back. And thats why i am missing the SC meet on the 12th.

Yup that would be cool there's not many dsm's around here but on weekends i see a couple of 1g and 2g's and some evos going at it on capital it gets really crazy out here on weekends but cops have been really bad lately so i haven't really talked to many people but there's a couple of dsm/evo owners around that might be interested in going to the rock.

I would be willing to bring out the cars for the weekend. However, I was planning on going to the BR DSM shootout; isn't it around the same time. I haven't got any information on it yet.

Also, can you go ahead and PM me the Rockingham info. Thanks.

EDIT: I found the info on the BR shootout, Looks like i'll be able to go to Rockingham after all.

on a turbo charged car going thru the 1/4 u really get the potential of the car at full boost. 3rd gear to me is a good pull gear and alot of u guys that just get head work done will see that too.

i would like to run and right now im just bolt ons from the previous owner that had no idea what he was doing. Only work ive done was swap out the turbo to a evo 3 and redone my clutch. She bites on the street and i disappointed a built k20 EK civic. but on the track ive kick myself in th nuts because of my launches. With the old clutch ive gotten 1.8 sixty foots and now with a ACT 11.5 pound fly wheel and 6 puck sprung and a stage 3 clutch i cant get it to launch the same. 5000 grand is what i go with but it bogs hard. between the next month im going to do some mods in with trying to get this thing of the ground. I got the guy sending me the info to the track but for u guys that are running...I want u to know that u need a battery tie-down. to run is 20 dollars and anything else i can get from them i will let yall know.

yea me and tyler both have fwd so we cant just launch like crazy tires wont girp

but my car is all stock right now besides for 190 walbro, and k&n filter and free mods

I'm going to try to bring both cars down; the Laser is stock, but i'd like to see what kind of time I can get out of it.

on my old fwd it would spin thru the 60 foot. the tires mean a lot. so how much boost are u running?

the last place i ran was not the same place i laid the 1.8 at. Gas was to much to travel in washington state to run in seattle. But they had one local that was an old run way. Its not treated the same and dig was horrible. the lowest i got with the new clutch over there was a 2.1 and a bad R/T.... a friend of mine was making jokes saying that the man at the tree had to come tap on my window to go...it wasnt that bad like a .327 i believe

Don't feel bad, my Laser is more stock than that; I've got some time before this shootout though, so maybe I can do a few things.
