Central Florida Car Show and Fundraiser
Hey All,
My name is Dave and I am the current VP at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University's Import Car Club. We are looking to hold a car and bike show sometime in March, possibly around spring break, in the central florida area. Our school is located in Daytona Beach so most likely that is where the show will be held, however, if we can get significantly more involvement by going to Orlando that is an alternative. I am trying to guage interest and participation for now so I can start planning some events, cruises, competitions and the classes that will be awarded. Please post up and let me know if you would like to try to make it!
Just some background on this event:
It will be the first time any car club at our school has held a show event. Originally we had three car clubs at Embry Riddle, muscle cars, imports and euro. However, the muscle car club decided to do burnouts at our school homecoming parade and has been dissolved as of currently. Unfortunately, this has given all of the car clubs a bad reputation on campus. Hence the school is no longer supplying much if any funding for us to do events throughout the year such as dyno days, autocross or even just a nite at the drag strip. We want to get members of the club, especially the new ones, out to the drag strip so they can learn to race there and not on the street but not alot of people like paying $20 for it and as a club that can get pretty expensive. So, we are holding this car show primarily as a fundraiser for the club. We are hoping that by getting some community involvement and interest in the club we can get back in good standing with the school as well as have the funds to do the things the club was formed to do.
