91tsi617- I was stationed over in MCAS Miramar from 03' to 06'. I counted over 30 dsm's on base. If you go over to the auto hobby shop you may see some every so often.
Just a word of advice. You better watch your car and your parts esp, if you are at the auto hobby shop. I had a fellow Marine steel over $4,000 of my eclipse when I was doing a 6 bolt swap. From what I heard from one of the guys that works there, told me that this happens all the time.
Last I remember, there were a few guys at Mals-11 power plants that were into dsm's. You are a great place to meet other dsm enthusiast. Be careful down there. Law enforcement if extremely hash on us down there. Also, don't go to el cajon for smog ref. I would get in touch with Road Race engineering. Alot of us from down there would drive 1.5 hours to go get our parts but, it was and is completely worth it. Watch out for some of those shops in your area.

Same thing happened to me at the hobby shop at camp pendleton... Both sides... I thought it would be safe to keep some part under the car and I was wrong...

Well, unfortunately I was on my way out of the corps, due to some sever diabilites . But, NCIS did a full investigation and I was supposed to be refunded for it but, since I got out, I did not hear anything back from them.
So, the only thing I can advise, is to take great care of your car and parts. Just be extra cautious no matter where you are out there.
There are alot of great guys down there but, also alot of bad apples that don't care about spoiling the whole bunch.
One other thing to note, There is a great deal of junk yards in chula vista. You are bound to find whatever your looking for down there. I almost got a 1991 GSX for $700 with some fender damage.

Look for the ones of energy way(?) off of the 805. It is pretty close to the border. You can also look at Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market and see where some are. It is basically a web site for junk yard searches online but, doesn't have all the yards. The majority of the yards are all next to each other. You could look from junk yard to another all day long just asking or looking for a certain car and still not hit most of them up in one day.

My name is dan, and I run Total Eclipse.
We shut down the easy register system due to a HUGE amount of spam accounts.
If you would like to join, PM me all your info and I'll get you entered.
Just so you know we are going to be cruiseing up to Road Race and super autobacs this friday
Oh, and I'm in the Navy and based up at camp pendelton.

autobacs for the hell of it, but RRE because Kannon is finally putting his race motor in and needs a bunch of parts. I was gonna post it up on LADSM but I haven't heard from too many of my guys just yet. We have to leave early enough to beat traffic, and a lot of people might not be off work by the time we need to leave.

Yeah, that is one of the yards I went to. Steve, do you remember where all the main yards are at and when they are open? Its been a long time since I went there. The only yard(s) I've been to lately are Pick Your Part over in costa mesa(?). But, they didn't really have much dsm's over there. But, I know the ones down in SD had a bunch.
