Would a dragstrip allow this laptop mount?

I know this should probably be under the racing section but I figured I'd get a better response here. I've only been to a drag track once and just recently got my car running right. I built a ghetto but sturdy laptop mount on the passengers side consol. I know that most tracks require everything to be secure in the glovebox or strapped down so would this be allowed or no? Or does Qualcomm not care if you sit your laptop on your passenger seat?

Not for sure, just call and ask. I dont think they will but maybe if you strap it down to the mount then they will.

Wow, from a personal safety standpoint that looks iffy.

Not only that, but how does that not get in your way when reaching for the shifter?

When I ran at Qualcomm, I had my laptop open facing me sitting on the passengers seat. Several track operators definitely saw it or could have easily seen it and they didn't say anything. They mostly seemed to be concerned with me wearing pants and that my battery was tied down.

I bought a laptop mount off ebay for like $50 I think maybe less. It's nice and sturdy and is really adjustable. If interested I can take some pics. :thumb:

Thanks for the input. The picture doesnt show it but I have pleanty of clearance to reach the shifter.

I think they would rather you have the laptop on the passenger seat than on that mount. Ive personally never had any problems running with loose items on the passenger seat but if they see that mount they probably will make sure its secure.

yyyyaa.. just from the appearence they'll flag it... my 2 cents. Just put the laptop on your seat or on the floor, heck stuff it under the passenger seat if it's a problem.
