I was wondering where I can take my old oil to. I can't take it to Autozone or anything like that because with the rain and what not the oil has water in it and well they won't take it. I was wondering if there is any place around the area that would take contaminated oil?

walmart if they don't then take it to a oil changing place, if they still won't drainage ditch or back yard in the grass in the corner and put some dirt over it.

Well I tried those types of places already and the oil needs to be uncontaminated as in there can't be anything else in the containers other than oil and about just putting it in the ditch and putting dirt over it thats what I'm trying to avoid.

take it to walmart and just drop it off next to the container and leave it---a worker will probably just dump it in the container---they dont give a fook

I usually just go to a jiffy lube or something and don't tell them if the oil is contaminated. If they still wont take it and you really don't want to do the drainage ditch thing (Good choice) knowing that water and oil don't mix wait until every thing settles down and then strain it out.

I would recomend having a small container with some sort of coffee filter type cloth stretched over. Slowly poor the container with the contaminated oil over the strainer. water should seep through oil should stay on top.

I had to do something like this in boy scouts for my ecology merit badge only on a smaller scale. I hope this helps

Call them and see if they'll take the contaiminated oil. They take paints, aerosol cans, used oil and filters, auto batteries, and the hard to get rid of; coolant/antifreeze. :thumb: It's very well organized because you just pull up, open your trunk, and they remove the stuff for you. You don't even need to get out of the car. Last time they gave me free funnels, rags, a real cool oil drain tank, and stuffed toys for the kids. :D

AAh Crap I have to work today so I won't be able to make it to the event. But do they hold this monthly or what? Oh and yea I remember getting a stuffed animal Thanks!:D
