Car Probs. Plz Help!!

ok heres the thing.. i was bored one day and decided to paint my valve cover.. so i took it off.. cleaned it.. painted it.. put it back on and then drove it it was SLOW and whenever i pushed it more then normal driving it lacked power.. then id push in the clutch and it would die.. but when i drove it normally without pushing it, it wouldnt die.. when i took it back home i realized i cracked the valve cover due to lazyness and not paying attention to torque specs. (oopsy) so then i jbwelded it and it stopped leaking oil.. but then now i have a clunking noise at around 3rpm.. and i still have a complete loss of power.. ive checked all possible "simple" solutions i believe.. but the car is getting slowly worse and wants to keep dying.. i unplugged the battery for about 5min to reset the ecu and then tried to start it and it wouldnt even hold an idle till about 1min later of me holding the gas.. i have no clue what the hell i did but im pissed that i somehow ####ed up my car just by wanting a different color valve cover.. someone please help.. im completely ####ing lost other then going to buy another valve cover.. thanks..
 
wow....u sure thats all you touched? maybe you unplugged something on accident and didnt notice that you did....hopefully nothing got inside of the motor when you took off the valve cover.
 
Inspect your valve cover gasket. Most gaskets require replacement after it's been used and this gasket may have warped or is not sealing right after you had disturbed it.

Check the "half moon" seal (on the lower left corner) of the valve cover gasket. Youre supposed to use a little gasket sealer on it. Any leak on your valve cover will cause an inconsistent idle and leaking engine oil.

Oh, check the spark plug rings and make sure they set right. Good luck.

i just came back from pick-a-part and bought a new valve cover for 14.90 and the sealed it up good but then noticed that my timing was off a notch.. what is the easiest way to get the marks lined up again???? thanks
 
Where is your clunking noise coming from :confused: ??? meaning is it ur head or ur bottom block? if its ur Bottom Block i think ur Balancers making noises...
 
wow raised from the dead.. wow my car has been down for almost 1/2 a year.. sad stuff :( well the thing was that sand from the sandblaster got into the oil and f'd everything up.. i washed it out and took the air compressor and blew it out.. but still some got through :confused: so oh well.. now i have a new engine in and im getting my hands on a t28killer today actually.. im not sure if im going to either stick with that or trade for a big16g.. after the swap the only thing i cant figure out about my car is that the turn signals or hazards dont work.. not fuzes, not flasher, not bulbs.. power getting through all the circuts.. im stumped.. oh well hopefully it runs later on today :thumb:
 
you never said that you #### haha.. well anyways i doubt i'll ever get my turbo back and now im paying for the turbo rebuilt because the person who installed it didnt prime it and the oil feed line was leaking like crazy.. but the reason why it broke was.. " i boosted before the turbo broke in " WTF oh well.. this whole thing makes me want to sell it and buy a honduh :(
