Damn it guys, very dissapointing, I went to the track last last friday and man do i need more practice, I ran a 14.5, ill post up exactly what the slip said in 15 min. but i had dropped my fronts to 20 psi and raised the rears to 50, then we added 114 racing gas my buddy gave me. on the way there we ran out of gas and had to stop buy a gas station like 2 miles away to buy 1 gallon then again barely made it there, we put in a little more than a gallon of the racing gas, well it brought it from below empty to in beetween the 1/4 and empty.

I wasnt used to the tires grabbing with the 22 psi in the front and the car on all 4 runs, bogged in first, once i launched i tought it was going to slip so i let off the gas a little but then i caught myself having to rev the engine back up, that sucked, Im occasionally dropping the front tires to 22 on the streets so i can practice just the take of. but damn it felt good showing of the lsd quiafe, the burn out was amazing.....

here we go

1st run / 2nd run / 3rd run / 4th run

I1= 2.806 / 2.402 / 2.498 / 2.486
I2= 6.715 / blanck / blanck / blanck
I3= 9.916 / 9.567 / 9.589 / 9.549

e.t.= 14.914 / 14.552 / 14.548 / 14.526
mph= 98.560 / 99.003 / 98.908 / 99.292

Okay im open to all critisizm, I know im not even using my lsd to its fulest potentialm 16g turbo what, fmic etc etc. remeber this was at palmdale high altittude they have a formula to calculate actual time, but i did not use it. every run was with the car kinda bogging in first.

thanks all for youre critizism.

All in all in was a very fun day at the track

Considering you have an LSD, that 60' time needs some work.

And also I think you should be trapping more then 99mph on a 16g and race gas...what kind of boost were you running???

the first two runs i had it set at 18 psi, and the last two it was at 19. I know my 60 ft where pretty bad, I got thrown of when i dropped the tire pressure. What I really need to get is the greddy profec b remote to switch from low boost to high boost, I know that would help me out alot.

Do you have a logger or anything?? with that much boost and race gas you should be trapping over 100mph. You were probably knocking really bad and your timing was being pulled up top and killing your top end.

something is terribly wrong. Even when I still had my T25 I was trapping 94-97MPH. I typically cut 2.2-2.4 60ft times w/ my fwd but I have my tire pressure at 18-19psi (I think you should go lower imho).

Honestly, I really think there's something wrong w/ your car. You are losing way too much power. Even a shitty driver will trap well over 100mph w/ your setup alone.

you have:

16G
FMIC
race gas
lsd

and still trapping under 100mph? This should have set off flags by now.

yeah I usually trap at 92-96 mph and my 60 ft are 2.5 usually and Im on the t25, the best 60ft I got was like a 2.2xx but that was a fluke. You guys need to realize that with lowered psi in the tires and being a spyder and wieghing alot lowers you top end.
Andrew

Do you have an AFC? You were probably running pig rich with the race gas and no way to lean it out

While I know very little about your car or what it should run, you must note that at LACR your times will always be slower because that track is inferior...........I would suggest making some runs at another spot before becoming too disappointed, etc

okay i live in socali. i just got a 97gst, so i havent been up to palmdale or fontana yet. however, i have friends that go up there.

i know one of the tracks up there is upslope (pretty sure it is fontana)
and palmdale is a high desert, on your way to palmdale the freeway ride make your ear plug. (or pop if your coming down)

hopefully that helps to answer some of your runs. :thumb: :dsm:

Palmdale is about 3000ft above sea level if I remember correctly. That usually translates to 1/2 a second quicker and 3mph faster if you ran at Carlsbad instead. I used to go up to Palmdale and got similar times as you. My best run up there was 14.3 @ 101. This was with a 16g, fp, 660s, afc, 3" downpipe/ exhaust, filter and BOV, using 100oct mixed with 91(18psi).

You definately have room for improvement in the 60' department, although I don't blame you cause the track isn't so great. IMHO the biggest holdback in your setup is the stock fuel and no tuning tools. 97 ecu's are especially timing sensitive to high airflow counts. Even though you used race gas (no knock), the high airflow count put you on a low timing map. 660s and afc would be very helpful for this.

Just wanted to thank everyone for youre opinions, as I work on improving my performance and my car's ill keep you guys posted.
Thanks again. :thumb:
