Well I thought I posted this but it didn't go thru so I will try again (or I posted by accident in another section). Anyhow, this is just the first stage for the plug, next I will pull a mold off of the plug, then the atual part will be made last obviously. I will post pictures of the buildup as it goes along.
This will be a cover for the stock carpet part or you can convert this to an actual replacement with some intuative thinking. Will be 100% carbon fiber backs with either e-glass or s-glass, which ever i have at the time (this stuff is way better than fiberglass as a backing). I do not know what we will sell them for as there are a ouple vendors waitng to carry them once the molds are finished. Bu once I tally the actual working time and materials I will give you all an idea.

Cool, but I think you should make it a full cf replacment of the stock piece. For weigth savings, not just looks.
The only problem is you would have to buy up the mounts for them (the parts that snap into the car, like the rod or whatever). Because that would have to be molded into it.

Cool thing is that it CAN be a replacement...but you have to take apart you stock lid and transfer over everything. A drill/bit and some pop rivots and rivot gun and your set. Gring the old rivots off and redo it on the carbon lid. Take your time and make sure the bars are straight and it will work fine. Drilling holes for pop rivots isn't hard on carbon fiber as some think. I haven't done it yet but will be doing it to mine. Can't be any harder than half the engine mods I or anyone else has done.

I guess you could do that. But this will be a mold for a nice shiney carbon fiber deck lid.

Can we get ones with cut outs in it, so sound can travel through it better? Then we can make our own covers for the holes to make it all neat.
