Front end conversions ?????

Why in the world do all these people do front end conversions to turn their 95-96 DSM's into 97+? I am a big fan of "if you start a project, you better finish it and finish it correctly" Why not go on and do the rear end too? Too damn lazy thats why. Who do you think you are fooling by doing the front end conversion when you still are rocking those ugly back up lights placed next to the license plate. Or is everyone that does a front end conversion prejudice of the round reverse lights in the bumpers? Don't hate.

Explain this, all you rear end conversion lazy haters.:confused:

Maybe the person who does the front end swap isn't out to fool anyone, they just prefer that front end. I see nothing wrong with it.

But yea, buy a 1G Talon. :talon:
 
Maybe they can't afford it? It cost me 400 alone just for the 97 kit and I got a deal on it. Then the lights, fogs, reverse lights, wing, Door caps, and last but not least the paint. Maybe they like the 95-96 rear. I did the whole thing except the wing. Didn't want to have the same 97 + wing everyone else has. When I got done then all I heard was get rid of those swirlies, ditch the GTR Wing and get the OEM one, Trash the clear tails. Yadda Yadda Yadda. You can't please everyone. Do it the way you want it done as it is your car. Screw what other people say. Just remember, "To each his own"
 
only reason i havint done it is cause

1. Going faster is more important
2. Repainting the front is more important
3. Somone to rear end me :)
 
I want the 97/98 Talon frount but ,I dont like the knobs on the rear that goes like the body molding..:talon:

personally i dont think i did mine the lazy way. i definately prefer the 95-96 eclipse rear over the 97-99. some people just have different taste, dont knock them and say their lazy for doing something to their car that they prefer.
 
yeah well im the only person on here that finished a talon conversion to a spyder LOL
 
hahhaahah look at my car.. tell me that aint a 97-99 :) by the untrained eye they cant tell.. and it helps the new paint is so bling..

wen i was planning ou the whole conversion.. i made sure i had all the parts before i even started.. even the turbo spoiler.. i kept contemplating if i should stick to my low spoiler with led.. but damnn the turbo spoiler looked so much better.. (i had a 98 gs-t) and low and behold.. its a full 97-99 conversion..

its ok to stick with the low spoiler w/led.. but in my eyes wen i see those 97-99 RS that have no side skirts/door caps n spoiler, or not finished 97-99 conversions.. it looks like something is missing.. just mo

but to answer the main reason of this posts.. doing the conversion is not CHEAP.. some people may think so.. but its not.. i fortunately got lucky that i got the front/rear/sideskirts/doorcaps for free.. and i just had to buy my $50 turbo spoiler and headlights and reverse lights.. but keep in mind i repainted the whole car also.. not cheap man..
 
If you are ever behind green95hrcgs's car on the highway you'll see what looks to be a stock 95-96 GS with an exhaust. How many of you would guess his 420a is stroked out to 2.2, built and has a 16g strapped to it?
From the front his car is mean looking...97-99 with a lip, huge frontmount and carbon fiber hood.
Each side of his car conveys a completely different idea.

I just don't understand the Talon to Eclipse conversions...I think 95-98 Talons look so sweet compared to the Eclipses. But a nice white 91 Tsi AWD is still the best.
 
id have a 98 talon spyder but i couldnt find any of the parts so i had to settle for 96
 
I think less is more, so get a 1G or something like my 95 Talon. Just has that small spoiler and is clean and smooth front to back. Plus those wings and edgy front bumpers only increase drag. Keep it smooth!!! :D
 
Because I like the Talon rear but I hated the Talon front.
 
The cost is holding me back from finishing up my conversion. Also, it isn't high in my list of priorities. You have to GO first before you can SHOW. Everytime I have enough money to paint the rear bumper that is sitting in my room collecting dust, I think about hitting 12s 1/4 and upgrading suspension parts...so in the end..the conversion sits in the back burner.

Just welding up the holes in the back and painting the rear hatch/quarter panels/bumper is $800 dollars alone. This does not include removing the door dings from the rest of the car and repainting the whole car again.
 
yeah but once you can look at your car and say " damn my car looks amazing" nothing can beat that. i very happy i went for the looks on my car, but its a n/t so i had no choice. if i had a gsx it would be the opposite story.

I'm sure once you see your opponent's face as you are pulling on him..and then the come back to say "Damn..you car is 'the fast'", you'll be feeling very good. You'll also feel very good when people who underestimate your car stop talking shit and shut up.

I.E.
- When I made 183whp on Vishnu's dyno at only 13lbs. untuned. All the guys that thought my 'silly automatic' would only squeeze out 120whp just said something along the lines of "holy smokes". (Stock EVO8 made around 190whp)

- When I pulled 3+ cars on a buddies' WRX from a roll of 40mph to 100mph.

- When I beat my buddies' modded manual MR2 turbo from a dig and won by 3 cars and pulling. I shut down at 6krpm on 3rd gear...just when my peak hp was about to begin.


Trust me...it feels really good to have power mods.
 
i have done both of wat u guys are arguing above :thumb:

i love looking at the car and knowing its a 95 and people not realizing it.. the go is there.. now it just needs to be faster..

some say its played out to do the conversion. i have an excuse/reason.. my first dsm was a 98 GS-T :thumb:
