This past Sunday at Silver Dollar Raceway in Reynolds, GA.
60': 1.613
1/8: 6.837 @104.68
1/4: 10.620 @130.80

*26 psi, internal WG, no nitrous, 2,980 lbs w/ driver, drag radials

missed a gear on the next pass and broke a U-joint on the third attempt.

This turbo is awesome. With a little more boost it should run 10.4's.
The folks who were putting on the event are pretty sure that they have this pass on video. Hopefully by next week it will be on their site and I'll post the link. Funny thing is, they have the one of me missing 2nd online already.

Great job bro i was looking at that turbo for awhile, sounds good i also read an article on it in a frag magazine, what is the site with the pass i would love to see it g/l.

stock crank (knife edged and balanced), crower rods, JE 9:1 pistons. 2nd Gen race port head, crower stg. 3 cams, webcam springs and ti retainers, 1mm oversized valves, extreme sheet metal intake, ford 75 mm throttle body, PTE 1000cc injectors, and FAST engine management.

How is the fast working out for you? I know that all the big pro 5.0 mustang guys use them. Gratz on the run. 10's is no easy accomplishment!

The FAST is awesome. I think that I'm the only person running one on a DSM. It took us a while to figure out how to make it work but now it's the shit. I would definately recommend it to anyone considering a standalone.

Sounds like somebody should do a tech article on FAST:D

I'm DL-ing the catalog now.

I'm in the market for a stand alone and this is the first I've seen of it on a DSM too.

Don't waste your money on the others. The FAST will cost about $2300 for everything including an MSD DIS-2. I have the bank-to-bank system with wide band O2. You will need to use the 1st GEN CAS too. Trust me, it's worth every penny and then some. I have changed turbos and injectors both and after one or two passes the car was tuned. In closed loop mode the thing corrects so fast you don't have to worry about leaning out or running too rich. Datalogging is great. The whole system is very easy to use and doesn't have a bunch of BS functions that will never be used. Oh yeah, I also run a stock head gasket on my car with no problems (26+ psi, 550+hp).

So far it sounds good.

So for me it's between Autronic and FAST.

I was hoping to get the video of the 10.62 pass but they don't have it up yet. Here is a video of me missing 2nd and at the end I had to slam on the brakes because the hood lifted up on the driver's side. Check out the trap speed. It's a good launch though, 1.57 60 foot.

No, I don't use a crank trigger. I had to modify the CAS slightly but it works fine. The crank portion is sent directly to the FAST and the cam portion is sent to the EDIST (electronic distributor). The EDIST triggers the MSD DIS-2.

I tried to get some info on using the FAST on my DSM a year ago and no one would give me any help. I am glad you made it work.
I have to agree, the FAST is the shit. Several of my friends use it on other cars and it cant be beat.

I got lucky. The guy that sold me mine was full of s#$t. He said it would work. When it didn't he had no clue. It took me about 4 weeks to finally get it working. I ended up sending the CAS to FAST and the guy used an oscilliscope to figure it out. Once I got it back and made the mods to the CAS the car fired right up and has been running great since.

What do you know about ford TB's.

What is the biggest stock TB on. SVO Cobra or lincoln?

Pretty sure cobra is twin 48mm 2002 and down, 2003 twin 57 mm same as Lightning. The lincolns are 48mm also.

It is a 75mm for a 89-93 5.0L Mustang. Several companies make them. BBK, Eldebrock, Holley, and Accufab depending on how much you want to spend. The Extreme Motorsports intake is designed to fit it. It will bolt right up.

If you don't mind me asking how much did that run and where did you get it?

Just under $200 and you can get them through Summit or Jegz as cheap as any place. I have the Eldebrock which is the same as the BBK. The Holley is nicer but cost around $250.

What U-joint (where on the longitudinal shaft) did you break and what do you plan on doing to upgrade it.

I had a track only RWD V8 car once that popped u-joints.

I had to use non cross drilled ones. I had to remove the joint to regrease them from time to time but the solid metal X section held up just fine.

Eventually I blew up the ring gear on the 12 bolt rear but those U-joints held just fine.

I broke the one between the first two pieces of the shaft. The one for the front yoke was busted also but hadn't come completely apart. The joints were autozone special which were probablly not as strong as the mitsu factory ones. I replaced all three with new mitsu u-joints. I checked and nobody makes a heavy duty u-joint for the DSM.

This would take some dicking around but you might be able to find one with the same X section dimensions and use DSM cups and needle bearings.

I remember someone I know coming up with HD ones for an non popular app that way. The cup diameter was different but a std app had a x section with the right spacing and bearing surface in diameter.

This was a domestic rig so maybe not.
