i have a 98 spyder gs. i was wonderin if the intake and stuff liike that are exchangeable from the 2.0 n/t... this would make my life much easier since no one make stuff for the 2.4

No, unfortually you can't. The engines are very different from each other. The 420a is a Chysler design while the 4g64(yours)is a Mitsu design. Now I may be wrong on this but since the 3g Eclipse's have the 4g64 motor in them you might be able to use stuff from them.

kee the 4g64. thatsa badass bottom end to i. im not a expert on the spyers or 2g's for that fact but the 4g64, is it a dohc or a sohc engine. depending in this i may have a solution for a

unfortunatly it's sohc. it's an alright engine, decent power, decent acceleration, decent pull, but that sucks! can i use 3g parts??

nah dont do that. just put a 1g dohc 2.0L head on it. theres a vfaq on it i think. youll have a 2.4L dohc engine with a damn good power out put. man even if you want i have a spare head ill sell you for the project. you have everthing but the head to make a 4g64 4g63 hybrid. that would be a bangin motor dude.

get 5spd cams for the 1g head, head, valve cover and find out about the wiring, get a 1g intake mani, 1g tb, and your all set. i even have all those parts.

sweet but right now i dont have enougth cash for that. maby some day..what would be the hp increase? if ya know. if not no biggy....how much are u lookin to sell those parts for?? at the web page it says you need custom pistons. is that true? and thanx for the help so far...

you shouldnt have to touch your bottom end. all your doing is bolting a head on it. if you were to change something in the bottom end it would be a different story. the head goes on top with the other parts and your good to go.

if your gonna do it change to a 1g tb, 1g intake mani, 1g head, and 1g turbo 5spd cams. youll feel a good difference. i dont know how much but from what i hear these motors are torquey.

pm me about those parts. im willing to work something out if your gonna do this. allways willing to help someone out.

It shouldn't be much more than the price of the actual head. All you have to do is replace some bolts, gaskets....whatever. So it really shouldn't cost that much, assuming you do the work yourself.:thumb:

from what ive read you keep the stock 4g64 timing gears and to close up the couple hols on the deck you have to take it to a experenced cast iron welder. then have them do the deck and all that to make sure its flat
