Hi,

I'm looking into getting a gauge pod and I've done a little research to find that most people recommend lotek pods from www.gaugepods.com. Is this pretty much what everyone else suggests, or are there other good ones as well?

I'm just starting to do mods on my engine and I'm prepping to replace my turbo. I've also been told that the stock turbo gauge is way off and that I should get an aftermarket gauge for accuracy. This gauge is the main reason I'm getting the pod... Before I decide on the 1,2, or 3 gauge pod... what other gauges are wise to have? Would you recommend the triple gauge pod or just the double????

exhuast gas temp = EGT

the higher the exhuast gases the leaner your car is running. Becoming too lean can become dangerous for the motor. EGT gauges are much more efficent way to moniter your air fuel ratio then those gauges wiht the blinking lights that go back and worth.

What significance does EGT play? And are there any specific types of gauges you would recommend?

To change your air/fuel ratio your going to need either a stand alone ECU or a Air fuel ocmputer (SAFC for example), EGT will help you figure out how much you can lean out your fuel mixture (remember leaner makes power) without blowing up your motor. More air and less fuel = lean. Less air more fuel = rich. Rich safe, lean power. Leaner means high number on EGT gauge, EGT gauge show high number and you decide at somepoint oh that's too lean I must stop leaning fuel ratio now or I blow up.

I'm partial to greddy and apexi gauges myself but they tend to be a pretty penny.
