I appreciate the reply.........

Neo Air intake on www.asylumms.com is$99.00

Pacesetter black painted headers $149.00 www.jcwsportcompact.com

Unorthodox Underdrive Pulley set:
includes Water Pump pulley, Crankshaft pulley and Alternator pulley.
$419.95
Total cost (not including labor to install) $667.95

HOW MUCH HORSEPOWER DO YOU THINK THIS WILL GET YOU??

doesn't show you a pic of the intake, with intakes it depends how big the cone is to bring air in, the more the air, the better hp gain. with the K&N FIPK, the filter is rather large, look at my pics in my gallery and you'll see how big it is. Pacesetter isn't that good from what I hear, xhypno has ported his and gotten more gains that way, so i'd say, you lose a lot of weight with the pulley's so 10-20hp?:thumb:

Question with the Down pipe on www.asylumms.com for 90-94 GSX. Will it fit a 90-94 non=turbo???

Also....how much horsepower will this combination turn up???
Air Intake
Cat-back Exhaust
High Flow Catalytic Convertor
Headers
Unorthodox Underdrive Pulley
Venom 400 Performance Control Module

What about this set up??? Totals $1,858.80
K&N Airfilter $129.95
Cat-Back Exhaust $100.00 (Ebay)
High Flow Catalytic Converter $249.00
2.5 inch Downpipe $179.00
Headers (black painted Pacesetter) $149.95
JET V-Force Power Control Module $235.95 (Nopi.com)
Level 10 Upgraded Torque Converter model PTC-CT15SS $395.00
Unorthodox Racing Underdrive Pulley Set $419.95

best bang for the buck:

1- if automatic, converting to manual, no HP gained, but alot faster due to lower gears, I did it, I know the difference, and it's huge

2- remove catalityc and weld a piece of pipe there (about $5)

3- Disconnect throttle body coolant hose and reroute it. ($0)

4- Disconnect PCV hose and plug intake tubes to prevent vaccum leaks ($2 for plugs)

5- Plug EGR valve with a gasket out of a beer can and some gasket material. cut to shape and drill holes ($0)

6- Re-wire the fuel pump ($10 cables, fuse, etc)

7- Advance timing ($0) unless runing nitrous

8- Do an oil change and new plugs

************Optional**************
8- Disconnect power-steering ($0)
9- Disconnect A/C ($0)
*********************************

10- buy a used wet-nitrous kit for $300 and put a 50HP jet combo.
10a- Retard timing
10b- Buy colder plugs

******************Useless mods*******************
1- hacking the air can
2- "cold air" intakes
3- Platinum plugs
4- Octane boosters

tell me something cheaper....??

I contacted Pro Torque and was told that they have a converter for automatic Talons. The stall speed is 300-800 above stock. This sells for $395.00 +shipping.

I think the set up I want is:
Unorthodox Underdrive Pulley Set $419.95
Weapon R Intake $186.95
Cat-Back Exhaust $$140
Pacesetter Headers $149.95
Venom 400 Control Module $299.95
TOTAL=$1,096.80

I was told also Port & Polish Head (1.0mm over)=10hp
1 G Auto Turbo Injectors (390cc) & Fuel Pump (140lph)=15hp
1 G 5spd Turbo Intake Cam =5hp

I think he means the rubbery hose between the intake and throttle body, I read somewhere that our intake is too close to a heated source, so all we are doing most of the time is sucking in hot air, if you could possibly lower that maybe by rerouting, wonder what that may do? let us know ninja...

what kind of dumbass would pay $420 for some pulleys?

:xnuts:

Dumbass LaserLX Unorthodox Racing Pulleys cost $419.00!!!! That is the price and it for a set of 3 different pulleys. If you are too cheap and can't afford them:laugh: oh.................well, but that is what they cost and you don't have to be dumb to get them. Mods cost you jerk:mad:

;) Thanks Ludachris. Some people just don't know how to act. Fine if you don't like something, but it is how you say it. He could have easily said " I think it is too much money to spend for those underdrive pulleys". He did not have to be rude and insulting. If you are a jerk at least don't act like one

If you do get the pacesetter header you should port it out if you can because they are so cheaply built that there is so much weld slag inside and the pipes don't go together so smoothly inside(thats why pacesetter is the cheapest out there). I bought there header and completey smoothed them out and gasket matched them and I problably only have the same hp gain of a good quality header. If you can't do this then I would save up for a good header that wont burn off it's paint and be all rusted in a week.

yeah, go to nopi.com, look up 1g eclipses, they have an alternate to the pacesetter, it's by borla, much more expensive but probably better... a lot better off with it then the pacesetter.

please underdrive pulleys are not much bang for the buck if they cost $420

i doubt you would get more than 10hp from them.......that isn't bang for the buck IMO

i see you will never have a fast car if you think $420 pulleys are bang for the buck

whats your car run anyway? oh nevermind its a non-turbo :xnuts:

last time I checked, oh wait, yeah...THIS IS THE NON-TURBO FORUM! We do what we can with what we have, WITHOUT a turbo, unless you know who sells turbo kits for 1g cars, it's a pain in the A** for us to go turbo. so don't be a d***!

ok sorry...but please don't waste money on a set of pulleys if they are $420....I have a set on my 5L mustang and they made a little more power than stock but they were only $70 brand new

I'm sure the pulleys are nice and all but for $420 someone is making a shitload of profit for very little hp gain

bolt ons are nice for little hp gains on a non-turbo car but the only way to make power is to port the heads/intake and get bigger cams

I agree, $420 is a lot, I heard that the only pulley you really see gains from is the crank pulley(underdrive). You can get it from extrememotorsports.com for $240 area. More reasonable and less work, I have it on my car and I would recommend it. thanks for being reasonable laserlx, much better!:)

Hey Sand14s,
How much improve with just the crank pulley?? Is it only at higher ends above 100mph?? Do you notice a difference in 0-45 mph??

LASERLX
You still were way out of line with your negative comment. I wish I had a nicely suped up Turbo and I would finish this ..............at the track. All you had to say from the beginning was you didn't think $419.00 was worth it for only a 10hp difference. I don't have a turbo and I am trying to find out the best possible mods to do to 1st generation Non turbos. You can't fault me for that. Learn how to give effective comment before you give IMO 2Cents. You are just like a lot of guys with fast cars. You never had to have slow ones long enough to appreciate what it is like. Hell.............everybody on page basically would like a Turbo if we all could get one:rolleyes:

oh yeah best bang for the buck for a non turbo car is nitrous...nuff said...throw your pulleys away

you can buy used nitrous kits for $250...you can use any basic wet kit....i see plenty of Compucar kits for sale on mustang message boards (yes you can use it even if its for a mustang)

if i had a non-turbo dsm and wanted to make it fast on a budget....(13s or quicker) i would do a full exhaust setup with better flowing manifold/header, test pipe,kn filter, and a nitrous kit (75 shot) and maybe a clutch and some slicks

Then later i would probably put cams as the DOHC heads flow pretty good but need better cams to extend the powerband

Remember with a non-turbo car camming the engine is critical...you just can't throw more boost at it......DOHC engines by their very nature like to rev and the manifold is a short-runner variety so it will rev with some decent cams

I appreciate the input LaserLX. All I want is to find out the best combination for us "lowly non-turbo" guys and the even lower "AUTOMATIC non-turbo". Now that we have all of this information for current and future 1G 90-94 DSM cars...........the next step is to get all the mods listed and priced out. The page could also have all the information/dealer connections to get this stuff. Soon, I guess someone will do this. I am running out of ink printing all the pages I searched out with 1G non-turbo mod information.:D
