Well guys, I finally made the trip to the 1/4 mile track on Saturday. For those of you following the build up of my RoadRacing/ Autocrossing 1G, know by no means has this car been being built for drag racing. Huge Rotors(20lbs each), huge/wide wheels, oversized sway bars, poly bushings, strut tower bars and the list goes on and on. So needless to say, she is not as lite as alot of the drag 1G's out there.

But this is how it went, I have a 1/8th mile track, emerald coast dragway, which is about 40 minutes form my house. I have been practicing there. Well previously my best was a 7.90 in the 1/8th, but then this Friday(April17) I raised the boost to 22psi. I ran a personal best of 7.77! I was so thrilled. The car ran two more 7.7 runs that night(April 17). Being so thrilled I looked for a 1/4 mile track that Test & Tune on saturday. I found one in Cecil Georgia(Valdosta). It is brand new and their Open House was on Friday(April 17) and Saturday(April 18). The facility is South Georgia Motorsports Park

It took me and some friends about 4 hours to get there, Much longer than we expected. So after driving the car 4 hours(getting there about 8:45 pm, took 10 minutes to tech the car and for it to run through inspection. Waiting about 15 minutes in line to get a pass. Of course not knowing how quick the car was they paired me up with a civic. So then that is when I made my 12.1 pass! Right of the Bat! I was thrilled! I knew the car was making good numbers on the 1/8th but to finally see it on the 1/4, wow is all I could say, and then my first run. I only managed to get back around and in line for one more pass, it sucked! I raised the boost and forgot to lower my tire pressure, so it spun them like nobodies business. Spinning through all of first, then not being able to hit second, i ran a slow 13.4 @ 107. So for nearly 9 hours of driving I got 2 1/4 mile passes. But is finally done for those of you who had been asking me to get that thing to the quarter mile. For all the DSM guys who were there at the track and recognized me and the car and said hello, thanks.

Here is a scan of the slip, I have already submitted it to the DSMtimes page.

Holy cow,

I didnt know it was possible to get into the 12's on stock 450's, stock pump and no AFC.

That is absolutely incredible.

You're my new hero man! :thumb:

Stock fuel pump (rewire)
stock FPR
Stock 450's
Hallman MBC (set to 22psi)

Know don't all ya'll kids try that at home! :D

Holy Shit..how is that possible!? ... really! Don't want you to let out any secrets or anything but DAMN.. w/o knock or anything catastrophic happening?

I'm sure its been touched on before but what sort of timing are you gettin @ that psi w/ all that stock stuff? Does it make 22psi thoughout the REv's?

I thought for sure the stock stuff was limited to 18-20psi w 14B. I have a B28 so I'm not sure how that translates as far as airflow goes between turbos, I have the same, 450/FPR/rewire, on my car and don't dare go over 18psi.

Wow.

Wow.

No secrets really, I use the MAF-Translator to trim my fuel trims, which is adjustable in + or - 5% increments. Then I raise or lower the boost to fine tune. Thats It. I only run that much boost at the drag strip and with a minimum of 3 gallons of 112 octane leaded fuel in the tank. I have been racing for 15, nearly 16 years now. so I started tuning and tinkering with cars before laptops and pocket loggers were readily available or affordable for that matter. So as many of you old school mechanics know, I just make sure everything is done on a solid rebuild that I do myself, so that way I know no corners are cut, or no detail is overlooked. So basically sound mechanical fundamentals. Then ensure my fuel delivery is adequate for the load and that I have sufficient spark. So the only real way of knowing I wont have anything "catastrophic" happen, is I tune for the proper 02's at Wide Open Throttle. So as long as I get the proper voltage reading at WOT and it is all in the green I tune for that. No seceret or no fancy formula, just good old fashion mechanical know-how.

Same Here, and YEs, same there.... Ah ha.. 112 (What was I thinking)

I'm a maintnenace freak and have the same approach to my car. Road Racing/AutoX prep. Just acheived near perfect fuel trims. :) Time to try some 112 I recon :D

GREAT run man. i ran 12.6 @ 106 on my 14b. but it was in my '95 awd with 103 unleaded. congrats again man, i know what kind of work it takes. BTW, my run was on stock smic, stock dp, and it was at last years shootout in the 90+ degree weather. great job though, keep it up. also was on stock injectors. heavy arse swirlies too. plus i spun pretty damn hard, 1.75 60.
