When I turn the car over.. The starter will keep cranking but I never hear any combustion. However, if I crank it so it turns over once or twice and do that a series of times, it will fire. Any idea why it fires when I just crank it over once and stop, then do it again and stop, but it won't fire if I steadily keep it cranking?

could be a bad frp. Mine went bad once and wouldnt crank if I held the key but if I spun it over to prime the fuel line and then try it again, it would start. It was bleeding off all the fuel pressure when it wasnt running and mine also started fine on the first try when it was already warm.

How did you diagnose it? You just tried replacing the regulator and it worked? I have a brand new SX fuel pressure regulator. LEss than 2000 miles on it, so I can't imagine why it would do that.

It started happening after I did my flywheel swap.. Could I have done something when I took the transmission out and put it back in that caused this?

Check the timing belt. Sounds like it may be jumped.

Previous to this thread I posted another asking about that. I've done a number of wot pulls in 3rd and 4th gear since and my timing and everything else seems to be fine. I really doubt that I jumped a tooth, but how would I check? (noob question)
