Ok, both these turbos are a direct bolt up for us 2g guys.

FPBig28 www.forced performance.com $750 with T25 core.
AGP T28 www.agpturbo.com $650 with T25 core.

FP charges another $95 to port the turbo, And AGP does not post porting on their site.

The AGP T28 supports 360hp, and flows 36lbs./min.
The FPBig28 I have no idea what it supports of flows, does anyone know?

Please post the technical info on these 2 turbos so we can figure out which is a better turbo for 300-350hp applications.

You cant get the technical info on the Big28. FP is so secretive about thier stuff. I received an Email, however, from Kevin at AGP. He is certain that thier T-28 is bigger, and capable of more airflow. I also asked if they would do some kind of GB. They really cant go any lower on the price, but they may be able to do some kind of porting with a GB. Hell, its already cheaper than FPs anyway you look at it. And I dont think FP will ever do a GB on any of thier products.

FP never would give me any technical info like CFM #'s on the Big28 when I purchased mine about 8 months ago. All they would tell me was that is was capable of supporting 350 to 400 crank HP. So... I would say by AGP's numbers of there T28 they are both close in comparison. I'm pretty happy with my FP ported Big28. Plus... FP's customer service was top notch!

On another side note, my total price of my turbo came to $881 bucks. That's including tax and shipping to front door, porting of the turbo, and a new 7cm gasket which you will need anyways if you have it ported. I used my stock T-25 core which was in excellent condition for the swap.

So the AGP T28 is better than the FPBig28 and cheaper with free porting.

How long is the group buy for $650 with core and free porting and gasket going to last? I will be looking to buy it in maybe 6 months, could I still get the deal then? Is it just a DSMtuners deal for eternity?

i wouldnt go as far as saying its better.. no one has the thing so you cant really say one turbo is better then the other espcially considering there are no #s realeased for the FP Big28..

Should be a great contender with it though

I have heard the FP Big T28 can support ~380 hp. Just a rumor.....they should be very close though.

This group buy sounds great. I inquired about porting before I found out about the GB and AGP said its $75 extra, FYI.

AGP's tech support kicks ass too..... I can't even count the hours I've spent on the phone with AGP....

...... Kevin and Ben havn't hessitated to answer any of mine, or my friends turbo questions. Before, durring and after the sale, the support was/is awesome.

Anyone purchase their GT25/28 turbo yet? I am interested in hearing someones opinion about it before I go ahead and buy it, though, the group buy deal is soooo hard to pass up, I might just go do it anyways.

any supoporting mods that have to be done with the AGP T28?? (stock fuel system, IC)

So if not, if you added a FMIC, 550's and a fuel pump with the AGP would you get more power, or would it be a over kill?

I would for sure go with AGP, as per the deal they have going right now. You can't beat that with a stick, Porting,Gasket,Turbo what a deal..I wish I had 650 bucks I would call them so quick its not even funny..Later Corey

I double posted woops..so instead I'll just say if you get a 28 series turbo whichever it may be in order to run high boost levels you need 550's and Fuel control (pump also) but if you have just a pump and run High octane(110plus) does that kind of help out if you want to run high boost?..thanks Corey

I've been talking to one guy who has FPBig28 and he's having issues keeping his boost at 15 PSI as it creeps to 19 PSI and then he hits fuel cut. He's got exhaust and o2 housing done. He suspects it's due to the wastegate being stock size and FP does not port that. So unless you want to boost 19 PSI and have all supporting mods, this turbo is not very usable.

Is this a common issue with Big28? and will AGP T-28 have the same problem?

I have never had a problem with my FP Big28 creeping any way what so ever. I just noticed the other day I was only running about 16 psi where I had it previously set to 19 psi. But... then I realised it was do to the drastic change in temps outside from one day to the next that caused my boost to change. Temps will effect boost levels from day to day. Atleast it does with my manual boost controller.

SPEEDY, but did you ever run it at anything less than 19 PSI? Like say 15 PSI? Why do you think this guy's boost wont stay at 15 PSI?

I also wonder if I'll be able to run 15 PSI on stock exhaust, o2 housing with that turbo.

Well not 15 psi per say, but I did run it at about 16 psi for about 6 or 7 months until I installed my 550's a few weeks ago. My O2 housing was ported by RRE. They did a very nice job on the porting. I'm not to sure as to why your friends is creeping, but this is not the first time I have heard of this problem. I'm just glad mine isn't doing it. All I get is a little spike, maybe 1 or 2 psi at most, then it settles very quickly. Are you sure he's not spiking instead of creeping? Sometimes people get the two mixed up.

i switched between low boost of 15psi and high boost of 20psi on my big28 all the time and never had any problems with it.. i also had a nicely ported o2 housing which I know without I woulda had mad boost creep..

I don't understand why everyone all of the sudden is down on FP. I'm sure AGP does good work, but its like now they are crap and AGP is the stuff. I don't understand it. I had the Big28 and it kicked major butt. I beat modded ls1's and stangs all the time. I never had a problem holding 16 lbs of boost for the first few months I had it. Then I let that thing breathe and ran it at 19lbs all the time.

On a side note, I think its great for the dsm community to have yet another maker of turbo's.

Pretty sure the wheel trims are bigger than the FPBig28. So it should flow more air.

I registered 2126Hz at 7500rpm. At 20psi. That was in third gear. I garrentee, taht at about 25psi in 4th gear the # goes up to at least 2500-2600Hz.

Well, maybe cause we don't have a guy posting predictions and mistruth's full time on DSMTuner's. People who rely soley on proven facts such as dyno numbers and track times usually give us a ring.

DSM Times is there, free for the viewing. Turbos are listed. :thumb:
