I know everyone has people ask them strange questions. So what is yours? I came up with this idea last night when i was out looking for the local street racing crew and i pulled up to this guy in a parking lot, just to say hi. Because he was the only one is the group with a 2g dsm. so i though i would talk some tech. as soon as i roll over to him he asks:

"Hey man how light are your rims?"

I was like, "too damned heavy."

either way, no hey man where are you from, or hey nice car, or hey what year is that, or hey what kind is it, gst or gsx. the only thing he wanted to know was how heavy my rims were. i was a little confused about that. anyway lets hear yours.

I got a PM the other day that said, What kind of Body kit is that. now, 1. My car doesnt run. 2. It doesnt have a body kit. and 3. I dont have pics of my car online. I dont have a gallery. And I didnt post in anyones thread about body kits!!!!

The best question ever asked on this site was the famous boost fluid question. (Older members will remember!)

If I remember correctly, this kid signed up having bought a new DSM, the turno wasn't running right and the guy he bought it from said all he needed to do was add some more boost fluid.

Being the smart kid he was, he came to DSMTuners adn asked the magical question:

"Where can I buy boost fluid?"

Things kinda took off from there. That made DSMTuners famous....I think every car forum in the world linked to us!!

yeah i remember the boost fluid ordeal. I felt so bad for him. We should go and beat the shit out of the guy he bought it from. I really felt bad for that guy, here he buys a new car, that he loves, then he comes to a forum to get an honest question answered, and is obivously confused about it. Then everyone harasses him for it. I hope everything worked out for that guy. Oh well, it was still funnier than anything i have ever heard. you have to start somewhere right!

Boost fluid was the best. I seriously could not believe that anybody was that stupid. I also miss thong thursdays ahhahah..

I have people look at my car, see the stickers on the side that say 16V Turbo and All Wheel Drive (the stock lettering on the side) and ask "Is it really turbo or are those just stickers you put on?"

or the famous queston I get once in a while,

"yeah it's turbo but do you have a blow off valve?"

I've been asked "Is that vtec?" as a serious question when my BOV triggered.

I liked that question so much I just tell everyone that I have Stage 3 VTEC non-turbo.

My friend told me I had to paint my new 2600 because its yellow

There are actually quite a few factory turbo cars without them, but I can definately see why that would be a dumb question. At least to anyone who knows anything about DSM's(or turbo cars, since 1G DSM's are like holy grails to home-turbos).

"Nice Trans Am, is it a GTA?" .... Some kid refering to my 90 TSI.... WTF? Go figure, he was driving a Dodge Aries.... He about crapped when I wold him it was a Talon, and that this little 4 cylinder would mop the floor with a GTA. And it is AWD to boot!

Wow, I wish I lived near dumb nosy people. Nobody ever asks me stuff like that. :(

Maybe you havent lived long enough just yet. It'll happen. Stupid people are a constant in this world and eventually they will find you.

Black Mazda MX-6 Turbo: Hey, you got a turbo?
Me : No. (16v Turbo and AWD listed clearly on rocker)
Black Mazda MX-6 Turbo: Well, I do.
Light drops green, I embarass him and watch his cute girlfriend slap the passenger dash as she bursts into laughter at her dumbass boyfriend.

Honda Boy w/fart can: Nice Talon. Do you have the Eclipse motor?

Girl at work: Your car is cute, have you ever noticed it looks like an Eclipse?

It's not car related, but a chick at my HS asked a teacher, in all seriousness, "what team did Malcolm X play for?" I know that's a Chris Rock quote, but the b!tch actually asked that.

"since its all-wheel drive, it's just like a VR-4 right?"

ME:um...i'm only missing 1 turbo, 2 cylinders, 8 valves, and my car is totally different because of rims...ect...ect...other than that...it's just like a vr-4"

That thread was great. I about died when he posted it. I think that thread has the most views of any on this site b/c of all the people from other sites linking to it. Didn't that kid end up getting a 16g and installing it himself or something?
