I am trying to figure out how to cool the intake charge without the presure drop of the side intercooler, wanting to get rid of that small pile~! I was wondering if running ice cold liquid through the throttle body heater would do any good. If the engine coolant will heat the air enough for the effort of gettin rid of it, would it cool good enough to go through the trouble of workin it out. I have an idea but im not gonna let it shine until the idea has passed. I was goin to run a liquid at about 38* through my method. would that work? any awsome cooling effects over the stock sidemount. Thanks

I don't know if this was the right place to put this and if not move it, but I am thinkin this is a very good idea and I need some info to back it up. If not I will just try it anyway and then tell you about it. I don't really want to waste my time if someone has already tried it!!! Can someone respond please???

What on earth are you talking about? I can only guess that you want to run cold water thru the TB. Yes, it's been considered and probably even tried. I dont think it's worth it, considering the amount of time the air charge spends passing thru the TB and the manner in which it does. While at the same time this would contradict my typical "every little bit helps" analogy I hardly think this is would even count as a "little". This is really neither an advanced nor an extreme concept. You're on the right track and you have the right idea, so keep up the good work.

Thanks for the reply. I was also going to have other types of cooling acc. with this. I just wanted to know if it would be worth the time to plum in the TB also. I had an idea the is similar to an intercooler but little to no restriction. I am still workin on it though. I dont want the idea gettin out until im finished, not that im gettin a patent. I just would like my name to go around if its used. Its fairly easy to make and like I said with almost no restriction. I need to test the actual results, but I predict that they will outpreform most intercoolers for much less than you would think possible. Thanks again

No, it won't do a thing. Look at the surface area involved, and the exposure time of the air going by. If it pulled 5° out of the intake, I'd be very surprised.

Grrrrr... I'll second that. Now I feel like an ass for ever answering.

Upon reading BOTH threads I feel I need to re-phrase the end of my last post to clarify. When I say right idea, I mean attepting to cool the intake charge is the right idea. In attempting this you're on the right track. However, even though one can only guess at what kind of crazy contraption you're dreaming up, you should consider that the "restriction" you refer to in the intercooler is essentially part of it's function. I suggest you do a little more research on your basics before you post this all over our board. Besides, breaking the rules could get you b#!@h slapped from 1,000 miles away. If not banned first.
