I'm in the process of making a ground kit for my 2G and am wondering if there are any points I can include so the ECU is grounded better. Any ideas?

Uhhhm. . . . if I *KNEW* where to ground it . . . don't you think this thread wouldn't exist?![]()

Yeah the ECU shouldn't need a better ground. If Mitsubishi thought it needed it, they would have invented it. Just grounding engine components should be enough. AC generator, clutch housing, engine block, and fuel rail should be a few things. It doesn't really need it but I guess its been proven to help like 5hp maybe. Butt dyno cant pick it up, but that isn't very accurate either. I grounded my engine a bit more, but I also have my battery in my trunk.

pretty much the only other thing I should consider grounding would be the fuel rail?

AND magnets as well, to keep fuel ionization to a minimum.

Yep, if you don't ground the fuel rail properly, the fuel gets ionized the wrong way, which drastically hurt combustion efficiency. I recommend ground straps at both ends, AND magnets as well, to keep fuel ionization to a minimum. This makes the fuel burn that much cleaner and quicker.

Probably because he saw a few articles in the mags showing how you can get 5-10hp from adding all sorts of different grounds.

I do not know what to think of that entire things. It appears to be more of a hype... But some people are getting some improvements...

I would like to see one of the DSM shops do a similar test. Look at it this way: how many people loose one (or more) different ground point while modifying their cars? Almost all of us have taken off the down pipe ground...

Or, how many of you guys drove around with ECU laying on the passenger carpet, not grounded at all? I know I have many times, and I have never noticed any ill effects...
